And here I thought you'd never top "Exile" when it came to original songs. This is fucking AMAZING. Beautifully written, Addie's voice is angelic and heavenly as always, Brad's guitar work is phenomenal and his screams in this are perhaps the best he's ever done. I keep forgetting the drummer's name but he must never wear a shirt again. His upper body ink is a staple of your band now. And his drumming is insane. The song being in 6/8 gives it a more epic feel, as if we really are going to war. Absolutely masterful. Definitely topped "Exile".

My pores stood on end when this song ended. There's a wonderful medieval/celtic/elvish vibe to it that just brings dragons and other mythical creatures to your mind. This song can be about so many things but to me, as a retired veteran of 3 wars, it takes me back to that 18 yr old taking his oath. As I raised my right hand saying the words my heart was filled with patriotism. In truth, not even growing up in a gangland battlefield of South Central Los Angeles could've prepared me for war, I had no idea what the next 30 years (20 USN) (10 PMC) had in store for me. So many fallen brothers/sisters the maimed, mentally broken. In the end, this is who we fought for the man/woman nearest me. Thoughts of America had little to do with it when the bullets flew, yelling and screaming orders while things are exploding all around us. Wounded and bleeding I felt little patriotism not that patriotism is a bad thing, blind patriotism is. To those who would serve you have my respect still, be certain about your reasons. It will be a wild ride and it will change you some for the better some for the worse. I love this nation, the promise of this nation often unfulfilled promise. What we could become not always what we are.
