I think kinda Selena too. Like maybe it’s slightly cash grabby just because the industry makes so much money, but she does seem to genuinely enjoy and love her products. And obviously creating the packaging that’s easy for people with arthritis etc to open was quite new.

Great for her that she’s donating money for mental health and it’s extremely impressive. People are acting like I’m hating on her but I actually really like her and think she seems like an amazing person. But I don’t know her personally, so I can’t say with certainty what her motives were

This is such a genius line. Halsey has created something that can be used by people who like minimal and natural make-up but also can be used by people who like a more glam look. The fact that you could mix those cream eyeshadows and make your own colours is amazing and involves the audience in her make-up line!

I think a lot of people saw that halsey was releasing a makeup brand and thought it was another millie bobby brown situation. But halsey actually does her own makeup for performances, award shows, photoshoots, MV's, and interviews. plus she is a painter, which can translate to makeup as well.

I think something to consider with this launch, it's that Halsey wants products that will last her during crazy sweaty concerts... the quick-dry paints will stay, the matte lip will stay, the highlighter won't break open and make a mess in a travel bag, etc.

I feel like this is the first Celebrity makeup launch that truly seems like the celebrity had a full hand in making. It’s not just a cookie cutter lip stick, lip liner, shadows, highlighters, etc. Like she truly did something different, IMO.

as an artist, I can see where halsey is coming from and what the products are for. I think the colours are more for experimenting and prints rather than everyday makeup. And also, I think she will come out with a pallete in the future, according to what some of the comments are saying. As for the glitter, painters usually do a base colour, THEN go over with a shimmer colour. So yah This is more of an artistic pallet, and I think it describes her perfectly.

Thank you for the explanation. I'm not an artist and was looking at this makeup like, why though? Nothing about any of it caught my eye which kind of sucks. Hopefully she does a pallette and powder blush and stuff in the future because that's more my style.

I really think the older generation of makeup artists underestimates the growing popularity of artistic cream products. The next generation of aspiring makeup artists are not interested in dense powders and heavy foundations, and are much more interested in minimal, personable products that enhance artistic exploration over perfection. The RU-vid beauty world is way behind.

Well, there is different makeup trends among different platforms. RU-vid makeup is typically much more artistic. The sleek brows can pull a wild eyeshadow look together. And a super heavy foundation makes a nice base for face makeup. Instagram models on the other hand will have more natural makeup because they aren’t makeup artists. Does that make sense at all haha? It’s just different platforms for different art

Why is everyone saying the make up isn’t “everyday make up”?? That doesn’t make any sense.. make up is make up; it’s a form of expression. If someone wants to look ‘extra’ that is no ones business but the wearer. You can wear whatever you want and not just settle for a neutral look. 🙄

Knowing that Halsey is a painter, the inspiration behind this launch is such a perfect fit for me. I don't know if she did this intentionally (though I would say yes), where she made everything reflect a painter's wheelhouse of paints and why it's all a cream formulation. That blue liquid shadow is everything for me. It's such a beautiful shade that I rarely see.

What I personally love about this collection is that it actually feels like it’s connected to the creator in a meaningful way. Rather than “Well I’m a celebrity and these people on Instagram and YT seem to be making a name for themselves in make up so why not do the same thing and make some extra easy money,” like we see all the time anymore. It feels genuine like she really did have a say and a vision with where it was going and I can deeply appreciate the artistry there. Much like you, I’m not a cream product user myself but I’m sure others are and maybe I’ll give that taupe and chocolate eye paint a shot

Generally when celebs come out with a makeup line or smn, I watch YT reviews, and while some seem nice, I never feel super inclined to buy anything because I feel like I could buy something like it elsewhere for cheap. S a m e. I literally didn't pay attention to it at all, I didn't even knew how the packaging looked like, but watching this was... From the moment Niki opened the box, I FELL IN LOVE. I've never seen a review video and felt this urge to buy the reviewed product in *such an intense way* ... It just fits so perfectly with my preferences in makeup (the packaging, the textures, the creative abstract concept)

I actually kind of understand why the shadow sticks aren’t super metallic. if you’re coming from a painting background, you’re more likely to either mix something shimmery in or put it on top.

Partly, it is because nothing started shipping out until January 25th. So while it was announced and was accepting orders, they were pre-orders. Hope that helps!

The eye paints in my opinion I wouldn’t even call them liquid or cream eyeshadows at all, the name say it they’re paints for the eyes that if you want you can sort of use as eyeshadow and I LOVE THEM because of that reason and I think it’s very innovative

Would literally scream if she came on your channel!! I think that was her intention with her brand to be crazy and bold and lean in to your creative side so I love that because it's so different and refreshing and it honestly makes so much sense for her to have her own brand because she has been doing her own makeup for years and she is so artistic so when she revealed her brand I wasn't surprised just really excited and thought about time!!

This is the first launch I have seen and been like “I want this” and I’m surprised it’s a celebrity first launch. The colours for the eyes are so different and colours that I have been wanting. Something I am happy to invest in. Can’t wait to be able to get my hands on these
