forget what everyone said about Lilith, she's the recognition of our own demons, the acceptance of our flaws: by accepting ourselves as whole, bad and good, comes power
@@Bocaj77 Trent Reznor and Aticus Ross producted the entire album. This is the first album they have ever produced for another artist.. other than NIN. There is a an interesting video about it on NIN's official website.
@@GazB85 not a stupid comment at all, these lyrics are way more influenced by hip hop and mc's with complex rhyme schemes than most pop songs by a singer
This album is so mature and open. Every song has a different vibe and message. It feels like she's speaking my mind. If I had to dedicate an album to my life it would be this one. Spectacular work! A masterpiece! Our queen Halsey!
Lilith Folklore always fascinated me. Lilith was not truely evil. She was made evil coz she refused to be with Adam, first human and went to Lucifer, the fallen angel. I hv always seen Lilith as a very empowering woman. Truely, halsey just killed this album. This song is awesome. U go Halsey.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Throughout the song she didnt use "Lilith". And thats what is creativity here. Few artist do this and Halsey is one of them. Normally the chorus is the name of the song but in this case it is different.
I came here from the Diablo version of this song with Suga because I wanted to see what the original sounded like. Omg, both versions sound so beautiful.
@@MinSugaCheonjae I agree with both of you. I like this one because the beat's giving like hip-hop vibes and I like the distortion on "corrupted" but I love the newer version because other than the fact that Suga is on it, it's darker both the beat, song and Halsey's voice.. it's kinda like the song had a glow up because her voice in the newer version is also stronger whereas this version it's a little gentle
I love that her singing has a perceived delayed start in this song and that the first line is “I’m perfection when it comes to first impressions”…small details but they make listening to this album not just pleasant but also rewarding. Great music and so much fun to discover.
Love that you noticed that as well. This entire album is a masterfully crafted piece of art. I wasn't ever a Halsey fan because I didn't give her a proper chance, but this whole record changed that for me
NIN fan here. Read a couple articles about Halsey working with Trent and Atticus and I was like "Hmm. Let's see where this goes." I'm on the fourth track. Wherever the album is going, I'm going with it all the way. Beautiful art. Congratulations.
I am a long-time nine inch nails fan who was introduced to Halsey by my daughter when she did a collaboration with bts of K pop and that their says it all the girl can do k pop a pop and no collaborates with musical geniuses with a 4 decade long career spanning industrial metal to Disney movie scores and now pop 🫠
I just heard this song tonight when Halsey performed it at the Game Awards right before the new Diablo IV trailer. Gotta say, I've never been a big Halsey fan, but I might be interested now.
I'm not a big follower of her, but I recommend her rendition of Death Cab for Cutie's I Will Follow You Into the Dark, which she performed with Yungblud. It is wonderful.
I love this song because of its meaning in relation to the title. Lilith is seen as evil, but in my book, she was a baddie! She was created at the same time as Adam, not from him like Eve. She refused to submit to him. When she left the garden, she found comfort in Samael and stayed with him after his fall. Queen of Hell always seemed like a badass title to me. She’s seen as a succubus demon in some lore, but as a mother of fertility, sexuality, children, and women in others. She was destructive OF THE PATRIARCHY lol! They took a strong woman and dragged her name because she went after what she wanted. She ended up with Lucifer, but I dont think that makes her inherently evil. A little corrupted? Yes. Destructive? Yes. But that doesnt take away from her overall strength.
@@salomebisson3972 they’re referring to the legend of lilith from a supposed “lost copy of the bible.” lilith wasn’t actually like that in original texts, but god I love what modern legend has made her to be lol
If she was in the garden she was the serpent ad boy did she get punished she has to crawl on her belly and eat dust. God made eve for adam not the lying serpent whom only lies when its lips are moving. Lilith wants you to feel sorry for her, she disobeyed and got caught and severly punished and now she tells lies to anyone that welcomes her evil and miserable existence. I dont know if she is satan or just another fallen angel but if she was in the garden she is eating dust now. She wants you to believe she was done unfairly but she got what she deserved when she enticed adam and eve to disobey.
“the more that you have, the more that they take” - so true in many ways. the more money you have the more people use you for it. the more love you have in your heart the more they take it away from you. you would never be used for these things if you didn’t have much of it.
It is crazy how her music helps me...and almost terrifing. This gift is rare and I am gald that she has it. For Halsey...you are one of the few artists that bring me close to the univers of imagination. Thank you.
I heard the updated version yesterday for the first time. I had no idea she made this before the release of D4! It's so amazing! It gives me chills evertime I hear it.
So Lilith is probably my favorite song on IICHLIWIP, and I've been obsessed with the recent collab with BTS SUGA for Lilith Diablo IV Anthem. Like, that version has been on repeat nonstop. I came back to the og Lilith with the worry that I'd lost some of the love for the original and I'm actually SO happy that the two versions are wildly different. Listening to the original and it's still my favorite, I've just now doubled my love for this song with the remix!
Exactlyyy and it reminds me of when Halsey and TOP were very friends, especially with Josh and the rumor is that they are no longer friends but I would love if it was fake and they were friends 🙏
I hate pop music, but Halsey kills it every time. Her album's have heart & meaning, they tell a story, maybe a fucked up one, but yet a story & one i can relate to. I love this woman. She's beautiful & one of my all time favourites. Keep bringing the hits madame & I'll keep banging to them...🖤💋
I’ve waited so patiently for this new album. Just so happened to be the day after my birthday. 💜 It's been such a rough journey the last several years and Halsey’s music has gotten me through some of the darkest times. It's like she knew exactly what I was going through. My son knows her music so well that when he heard me listening to it, without him even knowing it was her, he asked is that Halsey?! 💜🌸 I will forever have respect for her and her masterpieces.
This is really good. She made a career move in the right direction. R&R productions and Halsey singing is interesting. Very listenable. Some of these songs will goto movie soundtracks. I'm glad she done something that will give her longevity in this impossible to make it business.
reminds me a little bit of melanie. melanie has a dark twist pop sound like a industrial and sweet sound and nin working with halsey is def giving that vibe
My best friend would have loved this song! I know she is watching from heaven like "fuck I killed myself before this shit was released!?" She'd love Halsey!!!
