Halsey making me incredibly sad, while admiring her poetry | My Reaction to Manic 

I came here after seeing your reaction to BTS - i like how you pointed out that Halsey and SUGA were having some kind of conversation on the very serious topic - about being an artist and all shadows that come with it.

Halsey has endometriosis. It was extremely difficult to get pregnant for her. “More” killed me and still does. I could not be happier for her baby! Especially after that.

The song clementine is about her battle with Bipolar depression, which explains why the emotional lyrics are all over the place

Unfortunately yes Halsey did have a misscarriage when she was with g-easy(that’s why she says I’m so glad I never ever had a baby with u) and she was actually on tour at that time but her manager made her keep going because the show was too important to show, and she has endometriosis which makes getting pregnant really hard and painful. But I’m so happy that she’s having a baby with a man she loves now she truly deserves all the happiness in the world

you don’t know how much it means to see you appreciate her with this level of honesty. she truly is a lyrical genius who’s survived so much. idk if you’ve been told that Without Me is also about how she was continuously cheated on (she does an incredible performance of it on SNL where she literally has all the things g-easy said to her written on the walls behind her) I hope you dive more into her work

Halsey and Taylor are actually really close friends, so I have reason to hope for a collab. It would be a lyrical destroyer.

I just came here from your reaction to BTS' BE album. Halsey is a genuine fan of BTS. Halsey met BTS before BTS became big BIG in 2017 at the Billboard Music Awards. BTS is also very deep in lyrics.

She has a book of poetry called “I Would Leave Me if I Could” that I believe is pretty devastating. This album is fantastic.

She’s criminally underrated because as soon as she wanted to be an individual artist and not rely on her newfound commercial success she was overlooked as any other women in or outside of the industry would be when it comes to speaking raw truth and telling her story. There’s a lot you missed but I’m sure you figured that out over time, a little piece to her puzzle. She’s gone in on a lot of situations and it’s intricate and it exists around a the medley of her life.

More was actually written about her miscarriages that she’s had. I think she had 3 miscarriages before this pregnancy.

Honestly manic needed to get more attention then it got when it was released. People need to stop sleeping on her music

Could you do a reaction to her recent album 'If I can't have love, I want power'? I would really love to see you react to it. Her lyricism and poeticness and just her overall growth, it's hundred-fold even more beautiful and captivating. I still kinda cry listening to that album

About “Forever is a long time”, she said it’s about this constant pattern that she goes through while dating. The first part is her excitedly gushing about this guy she’s currently dating. How she feels she can achieve anything when she’s with him amd he loves her so much he’ll bring her the moon. But by the time she reaches the “get the colors just right” part, her insecurities kick in and she starts thinking- this is too good to be true. It’s not true. When she says “just right” 3 times, it’s to signify her doubting herself . Then her entire mindset changes- along with the tone of the song and she’s like I need to dump this guy before he hurts me. Hence “talk to your man, tell him he’s got bad news coming”.

The Fact that Halsey and BTS are closed friends in real life and possibly BTS will be godfather to her child.. That absolutely beautiful 💜💜

it's definitely an personal and exhausting album. it absolutely got me through my life when it came out when i wasn't in a good place so i get what you mean when you say it's hard to listen to when you're not in that place. hadn't listened to the album in full in ages until now lol!

When this album came out, right away my TOP favorites were “Forever…” “More” and “Still Learning” (excluding Without me because it’s been out for a while), this is probably my 2nd favorite album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom is my favorite album. A beautiful haunting dark and vulnerable album. Liked her previous albums but I feel like I know Ashley as a person more with this album and for that I personally like it the most. The voicemail of John Mayer talking about her best song yet tying right into the song he’s talking about (without me is a masterpiece) is such a nice detail.

More just punched me so differently right now. It’s the first time I’ve heard it in forever and I’m just in tears for her. But, like, happy? Cause she’s finally going to be able to meet her baby.

She deserved Grammy noms for this - at LEAST for Without Me. It was one of the biggest songs of the year. This album in general didn't get the recognition it deserves.

The Without Me lyrics are actually talking about how her ex wasn't having any success and she helped him achieve it and then he just explored her/ was an unthankful asshole about it

At the end of ‚Ashley‘ the speaking part isn‘t her, it‘s Kate Winslet‘s voice from the movie „eternal sunshine of the spotless mind“ which is Halsey‘s favorite movie. In the movie Kate Winslet‘s character‘s name is Clementine, which is the reason why the next song is called Clementine, it got inspired from the movie.

Dominic's Interlude actually really is more of his style, his music has those kind of sounds and influences. I'd love for you to check out some of his stuff someday or his album. I loved his album (debut) it's honestly one of my most streamed albums ever. He's awesome and him and halsey are really good friends.

That was so good. First time I've listened to the whole album, and I'm glad it was with you and your insights. It's great you have started listening to BTS! Halsey said that she was a longtime fan and their musical philosophy meshed well with hers. She introduced herself and brought 7 genuinely good men into her life. (Broke the ice with food, which was super smart. 😊) She has acted a little as a champion as they navigate the US press. They are close friends now - and they definitely didn't use her for a b-side feature and throw her away.

I listened to this last year for the first time, while in quarantine. I was very much not having a great time, which I feel made me connect with the álbum that much better. Ashley's vulnerability, the way she can outpour every insecurity in her soul just like that, it's even kinda healing for me. I only had think about it as self-deprecation, but I love the You call it accountability. Yes, her raw honesty about herself it's probably her trademark as an artist. She's awesome

This made me feel ALL the emotions again 🥺 I kept thinking "this is my favourite of the album" but then I remembered that I basically love all of them because I feel this on another level. I don't think I've ever felt an album/an artist more, and felt less lonely in my feelings and thoughts than in this! About SUGA's Interlude yes he is a bts member, one of the rappers, he also produced the song and wrote his parts, which are related to one of his solo songs, both bts and halsey are amazing with lyrics, they have an amazing friendship and they also have one song together called boy with luv from bts ep map of the soul: persona, it will be great if you can check it out🥺

From my understanding (and the general feeling I get) forever is a long time is a song about her falling out of love again, because she overthinks and she knows that her own mind will ruin everything. It leads into Dominic's interlude, and he's agreeing with her, saying that she needs a new man and that it's ok to move on. That goes into I hate everyone, which has the most obvious meaning 😊

Also sorry for the spam but I think you should watch her live at nashville version of graveyard, whenever she sings it now she exhales instead of inhales because she's relieved and she's moved on, she spoke about how she's come along way since she first released this album!
