Good stuff... heard the other end of this QSO on "Rob's side" Great set up with IC9700 & S.A.T c-ya 73

A trick to tune the 9700 with the SAT controller. A) Set up your CW to transmit at 500hz and set the Keypad buttons as the keyer. B) Engage the Quick CW button on the SAT controller. C) On the Radio, press Menu, then Audio (you can do this while the SAT controls it). D)Transmit the CW while watching the Audio Scope. Since you set it to 500hz, use the RIT to align the signal to the 500hz mark. E) Unclick the Quick CW in the SAT controller; you are now perfectly aligned.

Super cool pass. I used to have the full on sat station with an az-el rotor, etc., back in the Oscar-13 days. Had been out of the sats for a while. Recently picked up an arrow antenna and have been playing on the FM birds. Really anxious to try out one of the linear sats but I am not looking forward to the "hand tuning" of the antenna. LOL I have an FT-847, so the radio part is figured out. Maybe I will catch you on RS-44 one of these days. 73 de N6VHF

I do the FM birds and long QSOs are a no no. So my question is...are long QSOs acceptable on the ssb sat.? If yes is it because of the bandwidth available? VA3HRY

Once you sync up and downlink with the R.I,T. can move around without having to re-R.I.T. again. Can you save the R.I.T setting in the S.A.T. and will that apply to just the one bird or other transponder birds as well? Thanks and 73
