After watching the Banyana Banyana ladies singing this song passionately I got really moved and came here looking for it. Daaaamn am madly in love with this. Love from Nairobi 🇰🇪❤
My uncle left me when I was 2y. He decided to move from Angola to South Africa and spent all his life in that country... When he came back home, I was 18y. Six years later he took me for the first time to South Africa on 2014. We stayed for 3 months in Durban, since then, I fell in love with SA. My uncle just died last week and, I dont know what you're saying on this song, but it brings me a good memories. Its painful... I dont know if I'll be able to enter in South Africa knowing that he is no longer with us. I Just Love South Africa
The gist of the song, Athandwe's lover says.... Athandwe ksasa ndiyahamba (Athandwe tomorrow I'm leaving) Athandwe sizaw'phone'lana (Athandwe we'll call each other) Nguwe ingqondo yami (You ARE on my mind) Bazo phel' abantu (Till there's no one left) *here Athandwe replies and says* Hamba wena hamba (Go, you can go) *the lover says again* Nguwe ingqondo yami (You ARE on my mind) Bazo phel' abantu (Till there's no one left) Nguwe ingqondo yami (You ARE on my mind) Nguwe isthandwa sami (You are my love) Then from here Athandwe=baby and the lover says they'll leave a number for Athandwe to call, then harmonizing and yeah, that's the story.
Listening to this at 1 am .....crying cause I'm breaking up with my woman I've been with for 8 years. 🙏God bless you gents Edit: thank you everyone for your kind words. Doing great. God bless you all with your heart's desires❤
This is South African in his very best and no body can it away from them. Am from Nigeria/Gabon, and am proudly saying this I love S.A. I’ve been listening to S.A song since my childhood, reading history about them. S.A is the only country that can go to war with no weapons cause they don’t need it just give them the chance to express themselves and you will know that they don’t need weapons to win a war. God bless S.A
Sports and music unites people. After Banyana Banyana goalkeeper Andile Dlamini lead sang this song so well she definitely brought traffic to this song. She has a great voice so do these young men, music is a universal language i see people around the world on the comments. Dankie Mzantsi 🇿🇦
Andile did justice to the song from a female version but these guys damn definitely have really nailed it❤❤❤. They should feature Banyana Banyana on a collab ❤
Brahhh, I’m Zambian (uk based) and after watching Andile Dlamini (SA women’s goal keeper) sing this I swear got me emotional! I’ve never felt so proud to see the African culture expressed with such passion! The rhythm, and harmony is just beautiful! How can you make such simple lyrics sound so powerful and meaningful! SA acapella is flawless!
As an English fella, I too saw this vid on Tik Tok and was captivated by the song, the energy in that room and also Dlamini Has taken up to now to find a transalation for the song. I have listened to it on repeat a thousand times. Just something so simple .... Does anyone know theborigins of this song? Is it a popular song or a tribe song etc? Thanks!
South Africans are immensely talented especially when it comes to singing. I'm almost sure in every African household there is someone who can sing like an angel. In mine my mom and my 2 sisters could and can sing, not sure how I was left out!! Love this!
I have been to South Africa briefly and after that I have been addicted... I love everything about our brothers and sisters there... Much love from Tanzania
A lot of me enjoys narrating. Therefore, this song is essentially about two young individuals who fell in love while living in a hamlet (KZN) in this particular situation. The man must now head to the city (Joburg) in search of urban regions with more favorable conditions. He therefore makes the decision to let his girlfriend know that he will be leaving the following day. He assures the girl that he won't forget about her and that his love for her won't end.
@@anelemtiki6032 clearly you don't understand English. If you did, you would have seen that l examplified everything. Inkinga you read to respond rather than understanding.
I am shocked that a bunch of footallers sang it just as good if not better. It was like watching a musical. SA football team are true artists on and off the field.
But lord if I wasn't South African... What was I going to be ... Africans are truly the zest of this world we carry everything and I mean everything voices...rhythm ...beats... moves.. love.... so on and sooo on you will never finish us....
if you were not SA you would still be a pretty inkosazana . as a western born Black who only managed to save money to traval to the continent as an adult . this music is precious as hell. Nguwe ingqondo yaaaami , nguwe bophelaa-aaah abantu.
The beauty of being African is that even if you don’t understand the words/lyrics of an African song/melody the African spirit just leaps and tells you this is you, this is your song even though you don’t understand it this is your heritage!!! I AM AFRICAN AND PROUD I SAY IT LOUD.

Played this song for over 60 times now, but when I’m listening, it just sounds new. The melody behind it is so unique. Can’t mention how emotional the song is!
I play this song every other day. Today, I was singing in same tune and exact lyrics and I couldn't believe it was me singing. I am a Nigerian. This song is worth more than a masterpiece.
Genteeeeeee do céuuuuuu! Os melhores corais estão na ÁFRICA DO SUL! A galera já nasce cantando, só na harmonia de vozes, sem instrumentos… que isso JESUS 💛🇿🇦🇧🇷
It’s crazy how I always like first before even watching the video!😅🔥 And they strike again!!😭😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Tsepho is definitely the boy that our mothers told us to stay away from in high school but somehow most of the girls still fancied him because he was funny, playful and charming🥹 Gwijo Avenue is the hill I’m willing to die on!😫🤎🤎🤎
found this song yesterday and i couldn't sleep. Spent the entire night listen, looking for lyrics and meaning. What a time to be alive to witness such a music ❤❤✨ love you from Tanzania 🇹🇿 can we get a full lyrics?
Someone on this post translated it. It pretty much means a woman is leaving he lover Anthandwe, she says she will call him. He will be on her mind even though they are far away and she will keep thinking about him even if he may die or until every one is gone/dead. Someone also gave a great narrative of where the guy and why they are physically separating. It's a beautiful song. All in the comments 💕
Ah Jeeez ...so me right now😂😂😂The song, the melody, the harmony, the passion in their singing, the EVERYTHING just drowns my sorrows. This is SOULFUL Just WOW ❤
The South African female football team sing the song and I had to look for it ...I do not understand a word of it but I love it so much...So much love from Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲 4:05
