I remember watching this on PTV for the first time in 2006. The program was ‘Khiraj e Tehseen’ hosted by Anwar Maqsood. I was sitting beside my mom and was in my early teens and still too young to grasp the depth of such things. When this particular part of the program came on, I saw my mom sobbing silently and that left a very deep imprint on me. A week after the program was broadcast, Munir Sahab passed away. As I got acquainted with his work in my late teens and early 20s, I realized how great of a poet he is and I believe this particular episode sparked my interest in his work. Every time I read or listen to this nazam, I think of that cold December evening in my hometown Abbottabad, reeking of melancholy and quietness, distinctive to that place, my mom and I watching tv and a confused yet curious teenager wondering what happened to her otherwise very strong and composed mother. چاہتا ہوں میں منیر اس عمر ک انجام پر ایک ایسی زندگی جو اس قدر مشکل نہ ہو
This used to be aired on PTV and we happened to have this poem in our course books as well. I remember vividly watching this. And feeling all kinds of emotions. I hope they bring shows like this again. This was a golden era. Hello from Abbottabad. I lived and still live here as well

We all are late in doing something important in our life because of procrastination, circumstances or problems. Life is short and it will be vanished much before we can even think about it.that's why whenever i listen this i always think about i how i have wasted my precious time in unnecessary things instead of doing the things which were truly important. Munir niazi saab was great poet. I have been listening this shayari for more than 8 years & still i frequently search and come here to listen and feel this absolutely beautiful soul touching masterpiece & And will be continue doing this till when i will be alive. 03/10/2023 Tuesday 08:47PM
Very rightly said! His eyes and voice were conveying the same nazam... Long live such poetry. I think such beautiful poetry only comes from those, who themselves have gone through such experiences and the accompanying emotions.

I really wanted to meet Munir Niazi Sahib but I couldn’t just like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib . Regret of not meeting These two Legends will go with me to my grave ☹️☹️🥲🥲
I went to England and was able to get hold of his book " Aj Da Din" written in Gurmukhi.I am not sure whether these were translated from Urdu or were written in Punjabi. They are very very good. I think he also wrote shortest poem ever written in Punjabi; it is 3 words only. The title of the poem is longer than the poem.
