Grish. Was one the best boss I had. I worked there while I was studying. Unfortunately I had to leave due to family split due to covid and had to help a friend out his Nana passed and my partner and I had to help them out with rent. While I was working there grish and his wife would go out their way to drop the workers off home because they thought it was unsafe to walk home by yourself at night even if it wasn't very far. Or if it was pissing down raining. His wife would work at the back with us. She was very kind. Sometimes the bouncers or the staff from the Lawrence group would get free food from them at the end the night. Because he understood how stressful work late to early morning was.

My best guess is that it's a caste thing??? So many non Indians just see Indians being "racist" to Indians, and get mega confused, by caste discrimination is actually a big issue in nz. Most Indian business owners here are higher caste, and a small amount either don't hire lower caste Indians, or hire them and commit legal work violations (occasionally you'll see worker exploitation stories in the news and people get confused because both the owners and exploited are indians).
