Having made my first visit 6 months earlier and focusing solely on New Flyers, I made a return to Hamilton, and this time... anything that moved was fair game for my camera.
As far as the HSR buses (and even the GO Transit buses) in this video are concerned... not one of them rolls in service today, all having since been retired, with the 0500 series in the process of being retired currently. The Burlington Transit high floor buses seen in this video... also since retired.

Only 8203 and 8206 among HSR's original six GMDD articulated buses remained by 2006; these two were renumbered 518203 and 518206 respectively. Another, 8202, was loaned to OC Transpo in Ottawa as 8222 and is still intact (not scrapped). When 8203 was rebuilt as 518203, its original 8V-71 engine was not suitable for rebuild so another one was transplanted into it; this transplant came from an outside acquisition: former Central Ohio Transit Authority 8165, a 1982 Grumman Flxible 870, which under HSR was numbered 8251.

Sadly, a lot of the hi-floor Orion and GM buses you see here aren't even around any more, some of the lo-floor novabus and fleet flyers are not in service anymore, either. There may be a few up at the HSR mountain garage, though, albeit scrapped out.

Me too. I grew up in Hamilton in the 2000s, and since me and my family didn't have a personal car, we'd get around via HSR. Lots of fun riding the hi-floor Orion and GM buses back then.

As someone who grew up in the 2000s and didn't have a family car, this was my childhood. I miss it, but also don't want to go back to Hamilton. Yuck.
