When she says "look at where you are, look at where you started..." they talk about how much they need each other to raise their son they are expecting, and when hamilton says it they say how much they need each other because their son is dead. Idk if it has any significance but it does to me. they use the same phrases too.
So, here's my take on it: they're talking to each other after the funeral of the first Philip, trying to break the tension, and he finds out they're having another son, who's soon to be also named Philip. So this is still them reconciling, but with Eliza willing to be back in the narrative sooner than in the actual play.
Yes, I’m crying 😭 But I just realized these actually aren’t the birth/death songs of Philip. “That would be enough” is before his birth, he doesn’t have a birth song, and “it’s quiet uptown” is after his death. He does have a death song though, unlike his birth, that song is “stay alive reprise”. But close enough 😂

The reason they repeated the lyrics (probably) In “That would be enough”, Eliza was trying to comfort him since he thought he wasnt enough. In “Its quiet uptown”, Alex was trying to comfort her the same way she did to him. Nvm, lots of you probably already know this

I can’t help but imagine this is the inside of Alexander’s mind in It’s Quiet Uptown. He just can’t help but think about when he first found out about Phillip and how much happier Eliza was then.
What I immediately thought. Alexander and Eliza have a miscarriage with philp, both are reminiscing on how excited they were before they knew, and now grief and depression. Then I think Ham was so sad, he cheated with maria Reynolds out of grief
