We go again to the Hamilton brand to look at a rarity: an auto powered field watch. I don't see too many of these around, especially Swiss ones at this "value" price. I'll talk about the scam of boutique buying Hamiltons (and other Swiss watches), advocated by such reviewers as UrbanGentry, and how you can save big by avoiding them.
This H70535081 Hamilton watch gets just about everything right: legibility, thinness, looks, strap, lime, an ETA C07.111 with an incredible 80 hr power reserve, and sapphire crystal. I'll compare it against my Hamilton 50mm Khaki Field hand wind, another incredibly fun watch to wear. Some cool competitive options are also shown, below too!

I have owned this watch for 6 months. Love it. Very much recommended. I got mine on a bracelet so it was slightly more expensive but I wanted the choice between that and a nato strap.

I have a khaki king field pvd coated, it’s the all black with a day date at the top. Originally 699, I got it on sale for 459. Love it. Simple and a timeless military style watch

Hamilton also makes extremely nice elegant watches. The Jazzmaster Viewmatic for example. Good bang for the buck all of these.

Does that Hamilton have ar coating? I had a 42mm Murphy that was a beauty but sold because the crystal was a glare magnet. Plus I heard most of Hamilton don't have ar coating

I went with a marathon General Purpose quartz over the khaki. Fraction of the price, swiss made, and I couldn't be happier with the performance and durability. If you ever gear check me you will see it on my wrist always!

@@Ferien7 Just for clarification I don't own any of these but they are what I would like to own. In no particular order the Hamilton, Omega Seamaster, Breva Genie, Cartier Tank, and the Panerai Luminor. The Rolex Daytona and Explorer would be pretty awesome as well.

Compared to most watch reviewers Nutn is amazing. Usually they are either actively selling (and therefore lying about the product) or saying so little as to not offend the rabid, insane, Watch Idiot Savants watching.

Gonna get me one very soon. I've looked at hundreds and this one ticks every box. Only issue is the strap. Wished they put it on a good quality NATO instead but that's an easy fix. Also wish it had drilled lugs. Should be mandatory on field watches! Makes it so much easier to change straps.

This is halfway true. The FarCry watch is the same aesthetic but is titanium and limited run. This one is steel. Still a super cool watch regardless though... mine has been great.

Also the Far Cry version is 995.00 I believe . Unless you're a big far cry fan , I'd go with the regular stainless version.

Hamilton makes a nice watch for the money. You can find them on sale if you look around. Extended power reserve ETA movements.

I have a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto (42mm). It is a fantastic watch. The only complaint I have is the lugs are ridiculously long.

I wore my Hamilton for well over a year and sold it for more than what I paid. This is typical with Hamilton's because people love the brand and the prices fluctuate more than the stock market. In fact if you look at the watch prices, due to inflation they have more than doubled since 2020. The majority of the under $300 watches in my collection are now selling for well over $600. Any watch will increase in value given our current rate of inflation. In fact, buying a fine Swiss timepiece would be a better investment than keeping that same money in a savings account. In 1963 a gallon of gasoline was 25 cents, but the quarter used to pay for that gas was made out of silver. Today at $3 a gallon, a gallon of gas costs exactly the same as a 1963 quarter. Given this logic, one could argue that in 20 years time, this $400 watch can sell for well over $4000.

Hamilton watches are awesome. I just picked up the Coop a few months ago and its easily my favorite watch. Also grabbed a Laco Augsburg 42mm for $300 off ebay unworn.

I love the watch reviews but I’m a bit of an odd duck here. I don’t have, nor do i want 20 different watches. I have the plain 38mm automatic on a bracelet, and i wear it every day. IN addition to that one i have a dress watch, and thats it. I dont need 20 watches, so i dont mind spending that much on pretty much my only watch.

I like these but I'd rather own a Casio Protrek. I recently purchased a Titanium Prw-60T and I can't wait for it to show up. Don't get me wrong I love the design language on a Hamilton field watch and I will probably get one someday but honestly I want to limit the number of autos in my collection to VERY few. I recently had to do maintenance on one of my Seiko autos and pricewise THAT WAS NOT A PLEASNT EXPERIENCE. I am going to limit auto ownership to celebrate very special occasions cause I do not want to buy a watch that you might as well throw away cause once something starts going wrong with it. The maintenance cost can be more than the value of the watch.

Size 42 will not fit everyone, it's a bigger size for people with larger wrists.

Sure but thats also why hamilton makes smaller versions in 38 or 40mm too. I really like that about Hamilton even though I have big wrists and usually get 42mm or larger watches.
