This monologue takes place in the famous 'Graveyard Scene' in 'Hamlet', which is the moment when Hamlet and Horatio encounter two gravediggers, one of whom hands him a skull he has just dug up, which Hamlet recognises as belonging to one of his late father’s court jesters, Yorick. We know it's one of literature's most iconic philosophical meditations on the nature of life and death, but what if hidden in its message is a more surprising idea that might have us completely rethink what 'death' really means...
