Hammamet Beach, that is a well known place. I never thought I will be going there as it is a very very touristy place and hold therefore little interest to me or my family. We normally like to explore the countries we visit way beyond the tourist places. But yes, why not? We do have three months in this country, might as well also visit the most touristy places in all of Tunisia as well as the hidden jems. Please do check out the full video and let me know what you think. The main thing is what surprised us the most.

you represent the kind of tourist we need in Tunisia. to answer your question , unfortunally the majority of the hotels propose a good deal all inclusive for the tourists and that is why all of the them stay inside and don't buy anything from outside. they have markets inside the hotel , inside pool outside pool , private beach and everything to drink and to eat for free. Cafes markets and restaurants in the city are surviving thanks to the local visitors but it is not enough ...
@yvesthesleeve
@yvesthesleeve Месяц назад
I almost figured that, and I did notice that there are not many independent tourists in Tunisia. I hope views will catch on and I can show a lot of things.

@@yvesthesleeve we need to work more on our infrastucture and the cleanliness of the streets and transportation to attract more independent tourist. if you are staying long enough i recommend these places : Beach : Kelibia / Haouaria / Mahdia / Djerba Cities : Tunis / Sidi bousaid / Bizerte / Sousse / Monastir Monumemts and Museums : Bardo Museum / Carthage / El jem Amphitheatre / Dougga / Kairouan Mosque Nature : Tabarka and Ain Draham ( mountains and forest ) Tozeur and kebili ( Sahara and oasis ). You can also visit the Berber villages in Matmata and Chenini . make sure to visit yasmine Hammamet if you are still there

I think given your preferences, it is better to look for local culture oriented cities, hangout with trust worthy locals who know the good spots for different places that the locals love to enjoy.. it is very feasable

Thanks for taking us around. I was there a month ago, probably a week before you filmed this, and we would have never met anyways, because i stayed in an all-inclusive resort and didn't go outside. Im a Tunisian so im not missing out because ive obviously seen it all but most foreign tourists never get to experience those restaurants and salons de the you were showing along the street, the city, the 8th century Aghlabid fort in Hammamet or anything cool for that matter. You are the kind of tourist we want and appreciate even more than others! Stay safe and have fun sir, you have a lovely family!

If you are looking for a place where more is „going on“, you should go to center ville Hammamet. Its full of people and families, especially during summer and even more towards the evening 😉 There is a nice beach, nice coast line, the Kasbah (old Fort), a Medina, lots of Cafes and Restaurant with great food and beautiful view. Like „Berber Soul“ has a good mix of view & tasty food (try the berber breakfast👍🏼), Cafe Sidi Bou Hdid has a great view for example.

The tractors clean the sand. Hammamet is a beautiful city, but you must go to Yasmine Hammamet, its port is beautiful, and there are games for your children in Carthageland.

@@yvesthesleeve tourist aren't bringing money. They only come for the all inclusive and looking for bargings. If you look for tourists you can better book a all inclusive resort. Outside the resorts there are tunisians who are spending more money.

Welcome to our beautiful city. in the day time it's a great place to relax, hit the beach, or do some good shopping. It all change at 9PM give or take, then the place becomes crowded with tourists, party lovers, fancy cars, anything you wouldn't expect probably you will see. Hammamet's night life is pretty much booming after 9pm in summer. Have Fun.

Hi! Thanks for the vlog and sharing your thoughts as you walk around. Hammamet is actually famous because of the multiple beach resorts. Very few tourists come and stay in Airbnbs and rented apartments, but rather just for a bundle all-inclusive hotel plus flight, and almost never leave the hotels. It is very sad for them, because the best to see in Tunisia is well outside Hammamet anyway. If you want to see the bunch of people on the beach who are non-locals out of curiosity, I suggest you take a walk on the beach across the hotel resort beach parts. You will see the all-inclusive tourists then. Also, the south of Hammamet is way more crowded and has much more resorts, that's more like the "touristy" hammamet, while locals prefer the northern part because it's more chill while being close to hammamet city for night fun. In all cases don't expect anything like Egypt, Tunisia doesn't have that big of a crowd anyway. Enjoy your stay. And I advise you to skip the hammmamet part fast, there's much more charm to less tourist cities, even for a beach holiday!

Number of tourists per year in tunisia : 2008: 7,050,000 2009: 7,797,000 2010: 7,828,000 2011: 5,746,000 (significant drop due to the Tunisian revolution) 2012: 6,999,000 2013: 7,352,000 2014: 7,163,000 2015: 5,359,000 (decline due to terrorist attacks) 2016: 5,724,000 2017: 7,052,000 (recovery) 2018: 8,299,000 2019: 9,429,000 (highest recorded) Idk about that fact, i can't really say "died" 2020 was a very low number like anywhere, then we saw a recovery in numbers since 2022

@@Chiheb_AK i said tourism died in hammamat not all tunisia i remember before 2011 i used to go hammamet and it was full of tourists everywhere i dont know what happened now its empty maybe most of those tourists stay in the hotel dont go outside
@Chiheb_AK
@Chiheb_AK Месяц назад
@@bg5066 indeed you're right, many tourists tend to stay in hotels and not to discover the city, and some of them just go to known hotspots. Also some places got really good and better at attracting tourists like Djerba, Bizerte.. and i can add a new big category (that contributes to those numbers) "travellers" who likes to discover, btw airbnb helped this trend, you can see a lot of "recent" yt videos of travellers. So numbers are less in hotsposts, that's why touristy parts are less crowded (that's good imo) better promotion for the country and less mass tourism that destroys cities. Nowadays i can see travelers in not touristy parts discovering, interracting with locals, eating authentic food, and that's the best experience and tourism imo.
