Exactly the way I did my SP-600 a year before yours. It still needs a paint job and an alignment though. Excellent video as always!

I found myself trying to blow the smoke out of the way. Yeah, I really like that technique

the coil is better bc its difficult to reach down to the lower lead and bend the new around the old. I use the dipped SMT radial caps for replacements. Used NPO/COG SMTs in the Heath HW-7 and the VFO is now extremely stable.
