HAMMER AND NAILS HACKS 

I'm going to share this with some young woodworkers. The trick at the end is fun!

Nails are under rated and screws are the in thing, I'll use both but nail and hammering are my favorite

I like to predrill a hole on opposite of wood on one peice when I adjoin two peices of wood together.

final trick - awesome! blunt nail to prevent splitting wood - firs off, the second nail went a little bit further from the edge but more importantly more into the core wood where the rings are so small you drive the nail across them. that´s for the particular case, the trick in general it´s not the first time I heard it but what I´m looking for is an explanation how does this work actually? the nail body splitting the wood is the same thickness afterall..
