I couldnt resist ordering one.. i just drilled a phaze v (60x4,5x30) and it hit the spot in my bags but i still feel like i needed something stronger and this just looks like that. Any recommendations for layout? (500+ revs 17-19mph 1hander)
80 x 5 x 40 hold a special place in my heart for someone with that much hand. That layout will be long, late flaring and fast response. As long as there is friction, this fish will bite

I not in the same boat as Wayne, but im standing on the dock! Im 57, throw a 16# ball at 16mph. RPM is appropriately 350. Since im getting older i will be dropping weight, probably a 14#. Throwing a 16# is getting too much for me. Would this be a good one for me?
Yes and No. Yes, as there is little difference in hitting power between 14 and 16 lbs, unless you are on patterns shorter than 37 feet. No, is not really a no. Just kNOw that you will (most likely) add speed to your ball by dropping down in weight. You may need to increase the amount of surface you use to get the ball to slow down. Otherwise, you may find yourself throwing the ball through the breakpoint and struggling with your reaction. Even the pro's have done it. Bill O'Neil did it last year (2023) to find an advantage.
@@LaneSideReviews Thank you for your response. I anticipate speed to go up unless I control it. My rotation will probably go up as well. I made an appointment with a pro shop to evaluate me and help in the decision.
The Hammer Effect reacts so hard to the dry it’s like someone kicks it. It was so responsive and angular that I had to add some surface to it because for me this ball blows by the 9 pin.
I was wondering if you guys could recommend specific equipment and layouts that match up well with players that are low rev and low speed wich is what I am, a ball like this new hammer effects is cool and all but this type of ball would just send me left. I prefer to go straight up the boards (clean through the fronts)with a controllable smooth motion on the back end with good carry. I currently have a vapor zone drilled short pin with a 500 grit sand and slip agent on top of that and have been making that work but it's got more of a banana shape, am really wanting to go straight up the boards . Have tried weaker equipment but the problem with weaker balls is it's hard to carry, it's always leaving something, if you know what I mean? Anyways would appreciate any input
That's a tough one. Usually, we'd say go with a short pin layout. Do you know what your tilt / Rotation are, or do you have any videos? Without seeing you bowl, my first thought is something pin down / slow response (like 50 x 4 x 65 or 50 x 4 1/2" x 75) to get the ball to burn up some energy, but it's still going to hook and be more continuous (even for an asym). More data will help make a better suggestion though. Let us know, and we'll help where we can!
