These were my Mom's Dracula and Van Helsing when she was growing up as well and aside from the Classic Universal Monsters these were my first versions of these characters my Mom showed to me as I was growing up as well. Christopher Lee Dracula stands tall next to Bela as the image of Dracula I envision in my head when thinking of the character.

​@@CellarToys You know, in terms of the books - I'm looking… This was literally in an American grammar/elementary school-a line of slim, themed hardcovers. For example, one was the bulk of Showa Godzilla films, possibly kaiju, in general - there I learned of "Frankenstein Conquers the World," only to see it later. They were very like a "Famous Monsters of Film Land," early/juvenile readers set; I learned a lot of material without seeing anything except what was on "Creature Double Feature," coming from a pre-cable channel's local NY channel. Thus, I knew Mothra or even earlier “London After Midnight.” I can see the black and white interior shots; they had the range of Lee films, making the point for the first time how much more/active and feral his Count was, and I remember-my middle school may have had a similar line- wherein, seeing a nude in "Satanic Rites of Dracula" was a "big deal." They resembled Douglas Brode's films of Dustin Hoffman. Your question puts me on a quest of sorts. What, indeed, were they? There's nothing like that now. They seemed to have a big umbrella theme. Godzilla. Vampires. Hammer horror; one had the early (non-Hammer) 1935 English Werewolf of London, but covered the Hammer werewolf within and obv. the Universal one; then, once a week, I would see an edited Lee/Cushing collab and piece it together, way prior to “Fangoria” rankings or 'The Films of Terence Fischer," etc. anything. For example, the vampire edition (heavy Hammer but not exclusive) would have asides on Vlad Tepes or the countess of Bathory (?). Paperbacks like this were in corners of 80s drugstores. They are how I absorbed lore fast and had a look at the work. I see Star Ace Toys has a Horror of Frankenstein Frankenstein's Creature (Deluxe Ver.) 1/6 Scale Figure. Son does not yet have it - he's working on it. Be well!

Thanks man. I was actually more impressed with Cushings sculpt 😆 but that's OK. Our eyes tend to see things differently. I'm looking forward to seeing the other sculpts with the exclusive set. And I plan on doing two different displays. One in the detolf more museum pose, then I'd like to do a full on 1:6 diorama of the final battle! Showcase video will definitely come later for that

He had a tricky combination of very distinctive facial bones and very expressive facial muscles on top of it. His first few horror movies were made at a time when middle age and a bad smoking habit were starting to catch up to him. All of which means that you really have to choose your reference images with a lot of care (and not, as Sideshow appears to have done, use Brides of Dracula reference images for Horror of Dracula Van Helsing). My main beef with Klaustik is that they give him a more Italian nose - slightly beefier and more protruding than the profile shots I've seen of the actor.

I was really blown away with the Van Helsing. You'll love it!
