The thing I notice with him is, every exercise, every drill he does it with enjoyment. When you are doing something you love to do, you will be very successful! Keep up the good work! Your doing things at your age that are unheard of. Most important, stay injury free my friend. 👊

Looking forward to trying this later. Could you go over why doing curls on the arm wrestling table isn't that beneficial? Or what small benefit there might have other than ego lol. Also what do you think about static holds with a dumbell on a table?
Getting it off the ground is definitely the hardest part of a table curl, but a table curl doesn't work your center table curl strength because by the time it's up there, it's just pushing down into your arm.
@@Om-nq3sl The arm angle not changing (even though it is) is irrelevant, the movement means it's not a static hold. The body movements clearly change the stresses on the arm, try it if you believe otherwise.
@@oldchunkofcoal2774 its a static hold bc the holding part of the movement remains static just as a deadlift involves a static hold on the upper back just as a static hold pullup is unchanged by how much you move your legs or head
Leaning into it like that is hardly putting any tension on your bicep, you’re mostly using your back to move that weight. Stay seated and keep the shoulder in place, then see if you can do it still
On this exercise it goes from being easy and moving really fast to opening ur arm up really fast cus it’s more a static hold. Anyway what I’m trying to say is it’s hard to gauge how much more he could have done
Auden, I know this is from a year ago but I'm curious where your regular hammer curl was at during this time and where it's at now? My PR was 68lbs for 4 reps after I lost a tight Halo match I was soo angry dude I repped it 4 times it was probably 95% adrenaline. I was about 160 when I did that. 130 now but I'm gaining weight again. i want to arm wrestle so bad but I gotta build my frame again. Excited to see you crush the competition this year! 💪💪
I actualy saw a video made by devon .. he was doing it the same way ! It is probably an excercise for armwrestling .. back pressure But it is DEFINITLY NOT a hammer curl .
Yeah pretty sure it’s under arm wrestling standards, which is fine. Regardless though, it went up pretty fast which is good. He’s probably got way more in him, but might be risky for the back.
to all of you: very observant. no, it's not a traditional preacher curl, it's a modified one. this is an armwrestler's channel. he is doing excersizes that best mimic what happens during armwrestling. that is: the ability to keep your arm in that static position; NOT getting your forearm opened up from your bicep. cause when that happens in armwrestling you lose. also, it IS in hammer orientation. that is: with your palm pronated in and your knuckles right under the plate/s. this is to train holding a high hand position in armwrestling. when your wrist gets dumped, it can cause problems during a match.

assuming that is an arm wrestling specific exercise? with a Preacher curl you need to keep your back straight and extend your arm to almost straight and curl back in. In that exercise you keep your arm bent at almost 90 degrees the whole time and use your body to lift the weight. Definitely not knocking it. just wondering what that movement is called, what it works and is it specifically to help with arm wrestling?
There's two types of that exercise when its hammer grip u need your arm 90 degree angle when its neutral grip you need your arm locked to you this help strengthen your tendon in an arm wrestling range
That wasn't a curl, you did not isolate the bicep. You used multiple different muscles for the lift, including some body weight. You cannot curl 70 pounds.
that's exactly why he has to curl it that way. If he doesn't he would rip off his bicep. Someone needs to tell him to start lower and work is way up before he changes his form and fucks it up.

I've only done 55lbs x 6 in a slightly supinated hand position. Haven't tried a single rep. I guess halfway between supinated and hammer and my arm starts to open a tad at the bottom. Seems to be a hard lift to progress when you're also doing table time once a week and other training.
How can that movement be described as a hammer preacher curl? The eccentric (extension) and concentric (flexion) parts of the movement are virtually non existent.
Get twister bars, they mimic arm wrestling. 40kg, 50kg and 60kg to start. You're going to love the 60 kg. See if you can get heavier resistance ie 100kg, hard to find.

I’m sure this exercise absolutely has its use in arm wrestling, perhaps we can name it? Preacher curl is misleading and it will have arguments up and down, side to side all across the internet arguing that it’s not a 70lb standard preacher/hammer curl. Lol What we see here is using a preacher bench as a hinge (or pivot) to engage body weight and momentum while keeping elbow and bicep locked. Pretty much opposite of preacher bench design. How about a *_static bicep lift?_*
