I came across your vid as hammocking with my two little dogs for the first time. Really like your content and the conservation information sharing at the end. A very nice touch. Liked and subscribed.

Just found your channel and I love it . I am 65 years young and I have been doing bushcraft survival for 32 years long before people knew what bushcraft was my therapy is the forest if I didn't have it I would probably crawl under a rock and die . Anyhow listening to you talk about saving what we have and making it better as far as our wilderness brings joy to my heart this world is in a bad place if everyone had your mindset......what a world this would be. 🌲🏕🔥

Great video Sam, always look forward to your forest thoughts!! Was up in the Highlands on Thursday and Friday this week, drove down the A82 and before I always thought it looked beautiful and dramatic but for the first time the rose colored glasses came off.. some parts covered in trees and then these long sections of just bare land, mountains all around with nothing on them. Definitely seeing it all with new eyes!

Thanks Kimberly. Most of those trees will be non-native Spruce plantations too, so not exactly great either 👍

Came for the dog, stayed for the banter. If someone has never had a tick on them, they should go buy a lottery ticket. Great channel, thanks for putting in the effort to share your outdoor experiences with us.

Good vodeo sam the set up looks good i like the look of ticket to the moon stuff but as you say its a bit pricey. Enjoyed the forest talk at the end its crazy to think that the highlands more populated in the 18th cuntury. ATB mate. Sam

Thanks for watching 👍 yeah you can feel that quality but is it really worth taking out a bank loan for it 😂 I might stretch for the hammock but €130 for a tarp is pretty mad!

Good to see you back n hope the knee is doing OK now.... always one of my concerns being in the middle of nowhere n getting hurt.... I'm early 50s so it's something I need to be wary of..... I like the grey blue Jersey.... where can I get one?
@HighlandWoodsman

Thanks Mick. It something on my mind a lot too as I almost always out on my own. Also the dog getting hurt in remote locations. The top is the Covert Hoodie from Arc'teryx. It's pretty expensive new but I managed to find it in almost new condition second hand on eBay 👍🏻

Your videos have inspired me to get out doors more and enjoy the wilderness! Keep doing what you're doing! Can I ask what is the law in regards to campfires/BBQs in Scotland? In Glen Muick they have signs saying no fires or BBQs, but stoves are welcome. Some places don't have any indication either way. Just wondered if you could help as I'm fairly new to it all.
@HighlandWoodsman
@HighlandWoodsman 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching Robert! In Scotland it all comes back to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (SOAC) which states that you can have an open fire aslong as you do so responsibly. The problem with that is there are so many variables on what is responsible in terms of weather conditions, the habitat you are in, people personal skills and knowledge. So I don't really know Glen Muick and there will be times when having an open fire anywhere is irresponsible but there will be times when it's not and you should be free to do so. It doesn't help especially in the UK that these outdoor skills are almost non existent across society and there is a lot of misunderstanding about it.

Love the hat!!! Do you actually do lectures or talks at collages etc? I can see how passionate you are and that makes you very good at it. There's a lot of ignorance about preserving the woodland and nature etc and it's no ones fault, there's never been enough information out there about it. It's good what you're doing and I would love to see everyone taking a bit more care about what's around them. I also think littering is a very big problem that needs addressing. (now I'm waffling lol). Looking forward to the next update 😊

Thanks as always Tracy! I've never actually done any teaching or public speaking so I'll take that as a compliment 😂 I was quite nervous about doing these 'forest thoughts' when I first started the channel so it's nice that people appreciate them.

Another good video and great to see you getting some recognition in terms of companies send you kit to test. All your hard work is paying off. The quality of video is really good too. All this enables you to have a good platform to spread your Forest Thoughts. Keep it coming as I for one really enjoy your content.
