By far the nicest hammock stand on this site bar none. No fluff and redundant filler to make up the video. Time lapse with complete view of what you were doing. Great job!! I hope that I can build one as worthy as yours. Cheers!
This guy did everything short of growing the wood. A true master craftsman. If I had built this I would keep it for myself. I don't know how much I would charge someone for so much work! It would be an astronomical amount of money LOL!!
Awesome! Made one myself too a year ago. Was little difficult to calculate dimensions for this stand. Finally used dimensions from one e-shop. Used all other steps from this video to make my hammock stand. Thanks!
I saw this hammock on ebay and have always wanted to make it. I plan on it this summer after school is out. Thanks for the video, it confirmed most of what I've planned to do for this build.
Nice work on everything, timelapse, camera, woodworking, even that old Farah Fawcett poster was nice work :) I've got tool envy as well. They some nice oldies.
Beautiful work. Thanks-you. Was considering attempting this project but realized I don't have a cat ... or the discipline or the tools or the space. But I do have the hammock strung between natural forest posts so, nap time.
you can pass the dimensions of the project, measurements of the template, thickness of the slats, from Brazil I follow you excellent work congratulations
Great job here. Is the hammock for 2 people? I was wondering about having 3 beams and double uprights. To hold 2 adults in a double hammock. Any thoughts? Phil Design Tech
I like the end result other than the all thread. I feel it should have been cut short enough to recess them in and cut wood plugs to cover the all thread up. Other than that it was very impressive. Good job.
on your table saw, do you have a ramp that slides the dust towards to collection hose? if not, do you have an issue of the dust not getting sucked away?
When you drill holes in wood, it loses resistance, right? What could be an alternative to those really big screws that tighten the stand? If you glue pieces together and use screws, can you use smaller ones? I can see that big screws give a beautfiful look, but I´m thinking about resistance.
Hi, first of all: VERY NICE VIDEO! I bow my head to you. But I also have a question concerning bent lamination: Would it also be possible to glue up curved beams from individual pieces / "boards" that are shorter than the final beam (for example make a 9 foot beam out of two 4.5 foot "boards", than three 3 foot "boards" than again two 4.5 foot "boards" and maybe only use 9 foot "boards" for the top and bottom layers)? I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks in advance
excuse me May I ask the size of the wood and how thick is it? I have a project pretty similar with this nice work, and I wondering the size of each bend wood. Thanks ^^
Depending on the species of wood different thicknesses of the laminate strips are good. However as a rule of thumb, 5-10 mm is good. These look to be on the 10 mm side of the scale. the finished product looks like 40-50 mm
can u please tell me ur guess on the length of the cuts? particularly on the big sort of boat shape there are 2 smaller(5ft?) inner pieces connected with the 2 outer bigger (7ft?) pieces.
I am crazy about this support of hammock! I would like to do one to offer he has my wife for the anniversary! Where can we find the plans? In advance thank you!
