great in depth review man. I agree with a lot of your points. Since I wasn't 100% happy with mine I've been customizing it and honesty it makes a huge difference ! I changed the feet out for some well proportioned after market ones, I re-painted and did some minor re-sculpts to the head as well as making custom eyes, and teeth She's looking glorious now ! it's night and day compared to the stock figure..

Really good review! I have been loving my HC Rexy but it does have the flaws you pointed out. I’m hoping that they can learn from this figure when they make the other large theropods but if this is the standard going forward I won’t be too disappointed

Just found this on the shelf yesterday and immediately grabbed it and the Triceratops. I really like it.

I think my perfect Rexy for now would still be the Dominion Thrash & Devour, I just love the colors used for that one among all of Mattel's Rexy release. I actually will be passing on this HC, and wait for an eventual repaint which hopefully fixes the issue like the eyes, because at most angles it just looks like GMK Godzilla or a possessed Dinosaur. The articulation is great, but it's just going to be standing on my shelf at the end of day. I'm just really picky, as it took me so long to replace the Thrash & Throw Rexy, and the Dominion one looks great to me personally. As it stands imo, the HC Ceratosaurus is the best one in the line so far. I've heard great things about the Baryonx, but the Ceratosaurus just takes it to another level. Definitely am excited for the Dilo that's coming very soon too.

I'm very happy that we're getting more articulated jurassic park figures, the last time I can think of that we had a fully posable JP Trex was the revoltech lost world Trex back in 2010.

Might pick this up as a christmas present for one of my siblings. I feel like they could have have used rachets for the ankles and stuff for better stability. As for the tail.....they should have done a series of ball joints, alternating between hard and soft plastics. Might not look the best, but would have given a great bit of articulation and would probably have worked better than what they ended up doing.

Got Rexy a few weeks ago and other than the Lost World Bull, she's now my new favorite T-Rex. My only complaint is proportions, which has been an issue with all Mattel's T-Rexs'. The head is too big, with the calf/hawk being stubby and thick. Tails too short, but Mattel just has an issue with long tails. I do wish her joints were a bit tighter as her legs tend to give way, making her stand like the "rotunda victory" scene kinda hard to pull off. Also the plastic they use in some areas are really brittle and cheap feeling. The torso on mine was broken out of the box, but some Locktight fixed it right up. Other than that, love it and I really hope we get a spino in the future.

I love the figure. Got it when it released. One thing I notice heat will not be friendly with the joints. Mine got delivered during a heat wave and Mann it was a bit soft. I'm puzzled the tail on yours does not come off yet on mine it does and seen other reviews and with the same thing. Wonder if there was a change. Overall great figured surprisingly think I'm more disappointed with the Triceratops out of all the Dinos.

Honestly, I wanted to get her more for the concept of the figure than by how she looked, I thought she looked just “fine” and even then I almost skipped her because my Dominion Extreme Damage was enough in my eyes. The Hammond Collection T. Rex is one of those figures that you need to have in hand to truly experience her, I love things like the eyes or the soft plastics, the paint is incredible, the articulation is amazing for something her size and in general, she is a 10/10 figure on my book.

We have a T. Rex! But regardless, so would you recommend waiting for a repaint or a future new release of her?

This is the gorgeous tyrannosaurus Rex from mattel Hammond collection that Mattel did ever had made the best realistic eyes and skin textures mattel did good job on this figurine and it's far the best Jurassic Park toy collectors alike to add this toy in your collection

I’ve stayed away from collecting dinosaur figures due to lack of scale and (as far as the Amber collection) lack of larger Dinos. Found the Rex today and brought it home and I’m feeling pretty good about the overall detail of the figures. Think I’ll buy more.

Thats what I was thinking too! Sure customizers like Marco Makes and Rods Random Works made smaller feet but they dont look right on this figure of Rexy/Roberta. Something about them looks off. Maybe its because everything else on her is large except for the arms.

I really love how they did the eye effect on this, though I'll probably get the 3rd party feet lol

Absolutely love mine. My one grip eyes withstanding. The clown feet, you don't need such oversized feet for balance as there are customs out there that prove it. Even ones with toe articulation. Yes these can balance perfectly. Examples Marcomakes and rods randoms. I'm Hoping to get a set ad swap them out. The ceratosaurus totally shows that proper sized feet work and it looks amazing.

Looking forward to the Ceratosaurus review! I do want Rexy but I'm hoping we get a Lost World Bull Rex, Spinosaurus or Giganotosaurus so I'll probably save for them.

Overall I think it’s a pretty great figure for the price point. The paint is on point for sure. I’m pretty bothered by the eyes though. I nearly decided not to get it. Any ideas on what can be done about that? Does anyone repaint their figures? I wonder if I can repaint/paint over the eyes somehow.

Wow you actually reviewed it. Great review i got mine 2 weeks ago but the ratchet joint on the mouth is not so tight so i can do inbetween

As a biggest fan of Jurassic Park/Jurassic World, i love Rexy the female Tyrannosaurus Rex 🦖, she my most favorite Dinosaur all of time 😊. I not mind about "clown 🤡 feet", is not bother me at all 😄. If i have Hammond Collection Tyrannosaurus Rex 🦖, i will made her friend with Kaiju like Gomora and of course, made Rexy as a friend and ally to Ultraman Z (formerly i want Ultraman Cosmos figure, unfortunately that figure out of stock 😔)😊.

The scientifically accurate super poseable rex is upwards of $200+ 😦; it’s worth it though. But this one is affordable, also very poseable, and GREAT for customizing 😉🦖. But I’m sure IF Mattel releases a large scale Spinosaurus, Indominus Rex and a Giganotosaurus, I’m sure they’ll have giant soul stomping feet as well. And I will, like with this figure, cut their toes in half😝🤣👣

This figure is my most favorite dinosaur figure I own, but I think I'm done with the HC, I'm satisfied with the collection I have

Thank you for scaling him with other lines of action figures. For whatever reason nobody else does this with jurassic park figures.
