I havnt been a fan of Hammond-Suzuki organs these last 15 years, but this is now in that category with Viscount, Crumar, and HX3, of transportable Clonewheels that are genuinely great sounding that wont leave you frustrated
I finally just pulled the trigger on an XK4. There was a flash sale cutting $1200AUD off the price! I had to do it. Anyway, I'm feeling very reassured watching this video, these are some killer sounds you've made on this.
I'm having some things pop up that I didn't anticipate, but if you would like to email me, I'll gladly send you photos of the exact settings I used. Godisopen@GM
Please do a split with the early career Jimmy Smith sound: 808 LH bass split and 888 RH with 3rd Perc, soft, fast, C3 chorus, and leslie sim on BRAKE. Thank you!
You will Notice. That’s the only part that matters. We play better when we love the gear we are using. The audience for the most part… unfortunately, couldn’t care less.
Have you tried SKpro before XK4? I'm interested in a comparison. I don't believe there's much difference. After Hal Tsuchida's upgrades to my SKpro, the sound is great.
Yes I had an SK Pro for about 3 weeks and I hated it. Besides the decent mono synth, the rest of the voices were just… barely passable to me. I QUICKLY went back to my Stage 3 with a ventilator. The organ sound was good, but I had to really really mess with it to get it to sound close to the XK-4. The XK-5 is much easier to use and sound better to me. I don’t struggle with it.
What exactly are Hal Tsuchida's upgrades for the sk pro? I have the pro 73 and I like it but I am curious about how much of an improvement the organ engine on the xk4 is. It seems that opinions vary
What specifically did feel you had to do to make the sk pro's organ patches sound comparable to the xk4? My biggest complaint is that there isn't a dedicated drive knob on the single manual sk pros
@@creightonmoench6894 I just purchased the setup from Hal Tsuchida see link above. It is a setup of tone wheels, leslie, vibrato, key click etc. according to his original B3. I am satisfied with the sound.
I don’t think any of them are worth the price except the XK-4. The SK-Pro is one of the worst and most disappointing boards I’ve ever owned. I couldn’t send it back fast enough. The XK-5 flagship is…let’s call it dead in the water. Hard to edit, and doesn’t sound as good as the XK-4.
