For anyone who doesn’t know: Usually when a hamster hangs on to the top of their cage like that, it’s called monkey barring. It means they are very stressed out since they don’t have their sufficient needs met. (Bedding depth, cage size, wheel size, and boredom breakers) Usually when a hamster does this, they want to escape from their cage. This stress can also cause the hamster to rather be dead than live in a cage. Unfortunately, a majority of hamster owners have had this experience due to the lack of knowledge from pet stores. Just because an animal is small doesn’t mean it needs a small environment. Yes it can survive, but is it thriving? (Having lots of space, love, and stuff to do) it’s just like keeping a dog in a small pen. Do you think the dog is enjoying its life? Probably not, but then why do we treat hamsters like that? Hope everyone understands. It also pains me as a hamster owner to see other hamsters suffering due to most people’s lack of knowledge. Hamsters require a ton of research, time, and money, unfortunately most people treat them like a fish that can be taken out of a cage :(

i own 6 rats, they live in a multi-level cage with plenty to do. it's sad to see hamsters, rats, mice, and other small animals living in such small cages. also sad to see small animal like rats, who don't like living alone, living alone. same goes for fish, they can't just live in a small bowl with some sand at the bottom. even just 1 fish, it needs a large enough tank

No, it doesn’t. Hamsters try to escape from the cage all the time, especially if you let them freerun frequently. My family did hamster farming for years and of our dozens and dozens of hamsters, despite (often individually) living in cages seven or eight times larger than those typical hamster owners have, with plenty of entertainment opportunities, tubes, wheels, and wide selection of fresh and dry foods, almost every one of them monkey-barred regularly. It is true some of them do it to signal they want out for free run, but most of them just do it because their instinct tells them to run out at night to look for insects. It is totally common evening and nighttime behavior for hamsters, and often they will return to their cage if able after a couple hours even if they do manage to escape.

@@luxborealis why do they try to escape?-> For most reasons it’s due to insufficient needs. They won’t try to escape if they have everything they need such as chew objects, attention (if you have a hamster that loves people bc some are completely solitairy) water, lots of proper bedding, exercise, etc. yes, sometimes they try to escape for the fun of it, but usually if they are able to get out or on the top of the cage, it’s because the cage has bars/wires on the side (not a good habitat for hamsters) or has an easy escape route.

Old dogs enjoy their life and being with the ones who love them just ask much as the young ones 😄 So don’t be sad, because I’m sure the older one was enjoying himself just as much as the young ones

Your YOUR! videos always cheer me up and make me laugh. I just watched the movie "The Fault in Our Stars" I had been putting it off for so long I couldn't stream it any more because the streaming sites didn't renew their license for it. So I borrowed it on DVD from my local library and finally watched it. This is a hard movie to watch especially considering my husband has terminal metastatic cancer. I cried so much during the film and continued to cry for a long while after it finished. I really needed some cheering up and guess who just happened to help break the depressing crying cycle I was in? Yep that's right. That beautiful serene voice of Daily Dose of Internet. Although it can be hard to see as sometimes even though my guinea pigs enclosure is big enough for him whenever I open the fridge he comes running up to the enclosure door as the cheeky little bastard knows his snakes and favourite food is in the fridge and he memorized the sound of the door opening.

Fun fact. I accidentally learned how to curve my arrow shots when I was around 10 years old. The handle of my kid’s bow had slipped down the limb of the bow. The result was that the arrow hopped over the target when I was aiming point-blank. It didn’t seem to matter if I got closer. I briefly thought the cardboard box had suddenly developed a forcefield.

1:12 I remember witnessing somebody driving backward up a ramp on the road going the wrong way in a one-way section. I thought that was illegal, and I still think that it is, but when I told my parents, they said there wasn't anything we could do since we had no proof. Probs to whoever filmed that.
