Dear Ustad Hamza, Youth club and Naseeha Institute are overtly wahabi and deobandi representing only ~4% and ~10% of the Muslim population in Pakistan respectively, while the majority Muslim spirit is Ahle Sunnah Waljamaat aka 'Brelvi'. For a Daawah in a Sunnah way, a more inclusive approach is needed in Pakistan. Moreover, public universities would be a much better place to see the representative Pakistani population. Private universities, specially LUMS don't represent Pakistan!

@@KJK- Good thoughts and numbers which may vary depending on the source! The sole purpose of my message to Ustad Hamza was to encourage a more inclusive approach in Pakistan. Priorities, impact, and wisdom is needed to tackle modern issues. And the intention has to be checked, because as Hamza said, shaytaan is always at work and can screw anything up if we slip and forget the responsibility and duties that we’ve been given. The future will be only worse seeing how things are escalating out of control, and the worst sins are being promoted and followed. I don't like the attitude of brother in white t shirt. When you ask a question you should let the person answer the question properly. Brother Hamza is trying to explain what he tweets and why he tweets. But white t shirt bro kept on interrupting before he could explain the matter. As the prophet saws said, if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. As for brother dillys interviewing technique, it may not be perfect and he may not have the following of Joe rogan but he does have a fairly decent following and has done many great podcasts prior to this with few people critical of his technique. Your critique will certainly be beneficial to him as he will most likely read it but the name calling is uncalled for bro.

These days it’s so easy to get entertained by nonsense online and on social media. The intention to make things correct should be at the forefront. Because these days there’s so much work to do and it’s the most ppl have been plugged online in history. Many go to google or RU-vid to find knowledge to benefit from in their hectic lives. We need to provide the best and with a good intention.

I appreciate your concern for the elite and private secular educated class in Pakistan, and you have a valid point in targeting them as it is a neglected concerns, but your praise of certain “movements/organizations” was extremely selective and dismissive as these elites are not even .05% of the population, so your comments almost insulting to the work being done in Pakistan targeting the masses. The amount of work being done for the deen in Pakistan is mind boggling. The deobandi movement is extremely vast. Millions of youth are drawn into tabliigh yearly, there are literally hundreds of thousands of students enrolled in madrasas, there are thousands of khanqah and it is not just poor people influenced by these movmements. Barelvis are also very influential. There are certain lines Pakistan is unable to cross given the religious poor/middle class is so large in Pakistan give the above grass roots effort. Think of the qadiani issue. Talking about a modern movement as youth club which is not even .5% in influence as these other movements is actually laughable. Many Pakistani leaders were influenced by the religious class including Imran khan and zia Ul Haq having deobandi teachers .

@asma-mushtaq
@asma-mushtaq Год назад
Brother, the uncomfortable truth is that there's a general disenfranchising which occurred in many households precisely because of the direction in which some particular movements and works were evolving (or devolving rather). Admittedly, Youth Club is new on the block, but the scholarly nature of their work isn't. They are a niche that never sought limelight in the past few decades, but with the emergence of digital media, they (like other sensible people), embraced and evolved to incorporate it into their work. I think most of what you say resonates, but the assumption about the actual _extent_ of influence of YC (who are one of the emerging and establishing influences) in this time period does not stand. The nature of the algorithm and digital presence does really mean that the access to people is disproportionately bigger than it ever was. The YC audience has broadened to the diaspora communities and beyond and is leveling up to the type of content creation people seek of Muslim speakers elsewhere. Even western born and raised Muslims are now able to towards their homeland (ie in this case PK), and see similarities in mindset and religious views that previously were not as visible at this scale. So it's not a disservice to anyone to be acknowledging the social truth that YC do good work and have had an impact in the community to the level that it's now being felt elsewhere. Also, many movements are inward looking and closed off to others, except for speeches and preaching Groups Youth Club (and their likes) are not restricted to that. These groups facilitate and encourage healthy debates for the average person. As for the elite in PK, they do have massive amount of influence for the tiny fractions that _they_ are. We simply cannot dismiss the magnitude of the damage the have caused as a minority in charge. They are a very tight network of very selected people who rotate in restricted circles and create and manage the nation's day to day realities at the higher levels in public offices, government, army divisions, businesses, and academic and media circles. Their regurgitation of post-modern and euro-centric ideal, couched in neo-colonial and neo-liberal viewpoints are at times swallowed whole by the massively (formally-uneducated or ignorant) people who think that speaking without a Desi accent means success at every point. That's the price we pay for not investing in ourselves and sticking to the principles of our forerunners.

جزاك الله خيرا I pay a lot of attention to Ustadh Hamza's work and one of my aims إن شاء الله is to learn from him on a closer level. I didn't watch "the show" because I assumed from the dynamic and the absence of Ustadh Hijab that it would be chaotic - and the subsequent reaction solidified that assumption. I think with certain personalities a lot of Muslims have an intuition or firasah that we should pay heed to. That is not necessarily proportional to how "controversial" they are because that is warped assessment in the 🤡🌍. I have hosted teachers like Ustadh Daniel and Ustadh Gabriel who are deemed "controversial". I pray that Allāh ﷻ allows any public work that we do to aid us on the scales and be of benefit to people.

I do agree with a mass of your points but you said we should have discussions regarding Islam in Pakistan, but let's be honest it's not that safe because if a person asks something which isn't right, they might get a blasphemy charge and in the past, we have witnessed those events. And I'll tell you what the most "liberal community" are right now a niche segment because the majority of Pakistan (hijabi, non-hijabi, religious or non-religious) doesn't agree with liberals ( LGBT etc). However, to have a good understanding of Islam, we need good institutes and good scholars, because, before that, scholars were pretty extremist, resulting in people completely deviating from the religion. On one side, we have religious extremism; on the other, we have liberalism here. I was watching one Webinar by Omar Suleiman and he said to handle this issue we need to be compassionate YET UNCOMPROMISING, which is the most viable solution.

Great podcast with the brother, we need more real talks like this one. Many have forgotten the basics of Islam like with manners and decency. We need the youth to see good role models that have Allah always in their hearts and minds. So much ppl chase clout and drama, it should be the Muslims who provide beneficial wisdom and knowledge for the world. We gotta get back on track united, and not bickering or fighting amongst ourselves. It’s shaytaan that lives to divide Muslims and mankind.

The arrogance of claiming that only you know what the Quran and sunna teach, a lot of relationship issues are down to personality traits, and pretty sure even the companions had vastly different personalities. The idea of striving for equal outcomes needs to be revised. Tbh I have lost all respect for celebrity "imams" after continuously ignoring the elephant in the room the legal system and how women have become.
