this song made me cry the first time I listened to it. I was a baby stay then, and I was going through a rough patch in life. I remember that I was having borderline suicidal thoughts, I was straight-up failing in school all over again (one of my worst nightmares), I'd fallen out with one of my closest friends again, and to top it off my parents had started arguing and shouting in front of me and my brothers again. I was scared and tired and I didn't know how to handle it. eventually I did get therapy. but I remember so vividly the day I first heard this. I confessed to one of my closest friends about all this, and she, a skz ult, sent me this song, and I just cried for hours and hours in a way unlike the way I cry during my panic attacks. it's such a beautiful, visceral song. that same friend convinced me to talk to my family, and one of my cousins talked to my mother about it, which eventually ended up in me getting therapy and getting started on the meds that have put my life back on track. I still listen to this song every once in a while, to remind myself that we all feel this way. thank you for this lovely song, jisung.

Han jisung is such a talented person. He literally sing, rap, dance, write lyrics, do animals and background sounds and more things. No words can describe how much he is amazing and how much he deserves all the best. If only I could thank Han Jisung for writing this song… The song is already beautiful on its own but reading the lyrics in english for the first time gave me a feeling I’ll never forget. I’ve never felt so seen by a song, let alone a song in a completely different language. The way Han was able to express every word I’ve not been able to articulate in a way that makes sense despite not even knowing me. The beauty in Han’s songwriting is that it hits you. You can’t run away from it, basically a free therapy session. Everyone has hard times but man, the theme of feeling like an alien resonates with me so well. I’ve often wondered if I’d ever get rid of the feeling of not belonging anywhere, feeling like an imposter no matter where I go or who I’m with. The isolation, anxiety, feeling alone. Every last word meant something to me. I still have no answer to my question. But this song, what it does for me is remind me I’m not alone. If there’s other people who understand how I feel, even ones who don’t speak the same language as me, I can at least live knowing I’m not the only one who has that sense of not belonging. Perhaps we’re all just trying to fit in despite not knowing how, and perhaps there’s no proper way to fit in. I’m gonna learn to embrace the things about myself I don’t quite understand yet and I’ll continue to love this song as I always have. Hannie, you’re a genius. No words could ever begin to describe how discovering your group in November of 2018 changed the way I view the world forever. I’d say you’ve all taught me how to love a bit more. I keep coming back to this song, whenever I feel like I can't deal with my anxiety anymore and I feel like no one understands me. It's like a warm blanket for me, I'll never be able to express how thankful I am for this song.

Honestly, I have lost count of how many times I have cried while listening to this song. When I decided to come to an unfamiliar place for college, I never expected everything to go so wrong. People say I have grown uglier over the years and even when I go home, the only thing they say is how fat I've become- like I'm literally 53 kgs, I don't get it tbh. I realized that today I am the exact same age, by the day, as Jisung was when Alien was released. It's somehow different. The feeling and message goes deeper into my soul when listening to it now. Almost like it has matured since I first heared it upon it's release. The lyrics feels more... real and true to heart. I still love this song and my appriciation for it has only grown with time.
