Oh my, as a clarinetist myself, I think your playing is really inspiring! It's crazy how much mastery you have over those insane jumps into the altissimo register during those fast passages! Your tone control is phenomenal as well as your technique. I still think those your altissimo register is something special, I've never heard anything like it! Never Stop Your Drive! Don't Let Others Say Anything About You!

Very nice interpretation of this work which perfectly highlights the instrument, but, using all its possibilities, is particularly demanding for the instrumentalist. The musician here is perfect!

I love how he didn't sacrifice his tone and air for the correct notes. Not even in the hardest, fastest, most technically demanding parts of the piece.

Maturity in the sound has increased ten-fold! While sometimes I wonder if he gets a bit ahead of himself, I really enjoy seeing the character coming out in his performance. It's as if he picks someone here or there in the audience, and says with his eyes, "Listen, I will tell you a story!" That is my favorite aspect, and among what is most worth emulating for my personal endeavors.

I can't believe all the asshole comments about this guys playing. He is certainly one of the best clarinet players I have heard - great legato playing (very smooth) - great technique, great rhythm, great expression, great dynamic range - much better than most USA orchestral players and certainly one of the top soloists in the world today. I back this opinion up with having taught and played professionally for over 40 years.
@yacindrazv9865
@yacindrazv9865 7 лет назад
I think his sound is great, but he is sloppy. I've heard better versions of this piece. It sounds as if he's in a hurry. I can understand that, as he has to play real fast (I cannot play this myself) but I'm not a pro and this guy is. I heard profs play this piece as if it's easy and that sounds a lot better and they don't skip notes. Don't misunderstand, I enjoyed listening to this video, but I've heard a lot better.
@erikcaballero796
@erikcaballero796 7 лет назад
While he is slightly sloppy, you have to take into account the amount of stress that this must be causing him. An insanely fast piece of music to be preformed in front of a bunch of classical aficionados is bound to be cause for some mistakes. I personally have auditions coming up for a symphony I have literally dreamed of being in and while my teacher says that I'll get in for sure, friends saying I'll get in, people in the symphony commenting that I'll get in, I'm here feeling panicked. Playing in front of people with high expectations and high stakes going on is bound to cause some mistakes. give him a break , since he crossed it so many times flawlessly in the piece. (yes, pun intended.)

I would like someone to say how to memorize the music here. Qaul is the technique that Han Kim uses to memorize the score, as Ham Kim thinks. He thinks about the score and visualizes it mentally, he thinks about the position of the fingers, he thinks about the name of the notes. What is the technique to memorize.

A clarinet,an amazing instrument in the hands and mouth of one that has become one with it,the versatility and beautiful notes it can reach ,softness and loud,a instrument that seems to be not in and exalted position as it should, maybe because of the difficulty of learning and mastering it that brings its becoming obscure to the public eye,but what ever the case,no other instrument can bring forth such a beautiful distinct sound as the clarinet,and the one that performs here,brings home the point magnificently,,,what a great performance
