Lovely! The context is that this is based off the concert arrangement of the theme John Williams wrote as a part of the suite in 1980. It’s the fourth movement that is meant to lead into the fifth (finale). You can hear it on the Charles Gerhardt conducted album that has Luke on a Tauntaun for the cover. In 2018, Williams rewrote the piece completely. This is the version that is now commercially available and played in concerts. He also made a violin arrangement of this revision for Anne-Sophie Mutter. I would love to hear you do a piano arrangement of this version too! Bravo!
I love it when people mix in Leia's theme leading into the ending! Does anybody know if there is a cue where this actually happens like this? Or is it from a well-known suite? I've heard it before in several places.
This is an arrangement of the concert piece which indeed does include Leia's Theme. You can find the original symphonic version on RU-vid. Some years ago Williams revised the piece however, and it does not include Leia's Theme anymore.
