Interesting video, but I was wondering where the centuries old method was with steel casings and plastic pipe and the pipe wrenches and chains and cables- looks to me like a 1/2 century old method at best.

What happens if they hit a big rock?

How does an automated modern system get the material out? Do they pump water down through the drillshaft?

By hand...without tools? So whats with the electric pump and tools?
