We have a Baby bunny rabbit living under our porch, that apparently lost it's mother. My wife has been feeding him, and he became very friendly towards her. Filmed with GoPro Hero3 Black.
I am totally amazed to see a cottontail bunny eating from the hands of a human. They are normally reluctant to approach us. I suspect a relationship of trust was developed over time between the woman who feed this little one and the bunny before it would eat from her hand. I'm so impressed.
It definitely does happen. I have tons of them in my neighborhood. It’s like they become desensitized and less frightened of humans. They get to know you in a way by seeing you all the time. The cottontails by me, adults and babies, are the same way. I can wiz right by one in a rush and they don’t even run away. They are also used to my dogs!
@@blondefox315 I'm impressed. There used to be a large number of cottontail rabbits in the neighborhood where I was raised. Unfortunately in recent years the population of these beautiful and friendly rabbits have dwindled considerably due to in influx of hawks and owls into the area. But there is a nearby wooded area which is where the survivors are probably living now along with the deer that also live there.
@@lonstauder9861 Awww I know, it’s sad. I’m lucky though bc my entire neighborhood is full of them. They are beautiful and so so friendly. They have been reproducing at rapid rates as well the past 2 seasons. The babies are too stinking cute, they will come right to you if you call them over…just like this video. They are simply adorable!
The babies seem to be less fearful if you interact with them young. I’ve had a couple that I could handle and feed and they enjoyed it. This lil guy definitely is your friend
I used to hate rabbits before a similar situation unfolded before me. I had to take care of an orphaned cottontail, and he would always sit beside me when I went outside. The reason as to why I didn't like them before is because my first bunny got rabies and bit me as a child.
They are pretty much full grown and on their own by that stage. However, you probably want to stop feeding it. If it starts associating food and protection with being around humans....someone's cat or dog will probably get the poor thing.
If you're a girl everything is A-OK...if you're a guy who plays guitar then more power to ya....but if you're a guy with those nails you need to trim/sand them back to man length. And the bunny is way cute and cool.
