Hand washing 5 Hermès silk scarves! 

An SA at an Hermes store told me whispering and under her breath that she simply throws her scarves in the washing machine in a lingerie bag on the delicate cycle and they wash up beautifully. I've never tried it--I would be so sad to lose the factory creases and not have them fold perfectly back up after use, but it's comforting to know that you can if the worst happens.

I wash my silk scarves by hand in cold water Ph neutral hair shampoo. When I have stains then with Gall soap available from Amazon. Always very quickly out of the water because colors may run. This is particularly true with new Hermes silk scarves. I try not to rub and dry them flat. Have never washed silk cashmere shawls because I am afraid they may shrink or get out of shape. Overall I am very careful removing stains and if I need to do it use a Q tip swab before washing. Occasionally have washed scarves from the 80's in the machine in cold water, using a net and using quick program. What I always do is place a sheet of SHOUT color catcher in every wash !!

I have a Hermes scarf with what I think is a perspiration stain--it's irregular and faintly yellowish. I've hand washed it, but the stain is still there--does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions about how to remove it?

I’m surprised you are using a colored dishwashing liquid. I always keep a dye-free, fragrance-free dishwashing liquid for laundry stains. Maybe that sort of thing isn’t available in the UK?
