I tried this for a week and my wrist pains are gone and the best part is I am able to lift heavier weights in all my exercises. I was stuck on same weights for almost 45 days and wasn't able to increase weights but this did the trick in just one week. Thanks doc. Strong hands wrists and forearms are most important for any heavy weight training exercises.
When I try to do push-ups today my wrist really hurts. These exercises felt really good on them. I'm going to take a break from push-ups while I do these. I'm so glad you made this video
@@PerfectlyPedanticPokemonPlayer does your wrist break when hitting with a straight punch? Mine does since I usually don't use punches when I fight so I hope these exercises will help me with that since I need to diversify my skills
blackzar09 you really think ppl are that ugly even on the internet? Ok that was dumb exactly here are the most ppl sad/loveless because no one can see they and they in safety.. but i hope thats not the case..

This is such a great walk through me and my artist friends all have wrist problems and I have and will continue to recommend this whenever someone I know complains about wrist problems
Just found your channel! Thank you so much for these very helpful exercises! Im 70 years old and trying to build strength in my arms, wrist, and fingers! Pray much success in your practice! 💯❣
I've been in a deep anxiety since last week, and I've had a hard time to know how to deal with this problem. My brother recommended this video, so I thought I'd start exercising my body again and damn, I'm starting to feel myself but reborn! I think I can handle my complex situation by following you and other channels. Thank you, Dr. Levi.
As a heavy computer user, photographer, mountain biker, motorcyclist my wrists and arms are under constant stress. I just started looking for exercises and found your web page and this RU-vid vid. Thank you so much for contributing to better wrists and arms Worldwide. You rock !
Not only is this informative and well produced, and very helpful, what really strikes me is how much Dr. Levi is enjoying helping us. Not only is he very cool and smart, he is enthusiastic and passionate about this, which is very important, and he seems to be having a lot of fun helping us. Very cool.
I am an artist and fiddle player, I found this video through a google search looking for exercises to strengthen my forearms to help with my favorite aforementioned activities. I finally feel capable of helping myself in this way thanks to your video, instant sub from me! Thank you dr Levi! I love that you’re the ‘gamer & esports’ guy bc, while it’s obvious you are very fit, it’s refreshing to find someone who doesn’t direct their videos towards the sports/body building community and are actually focusing on people who use their hands/wrists a lot and although I’m an artist and musician and not a gamer, it feels more like this exercise is for me. I’m a small woman w very slender arms/hands/wrists/etc & building strength has always been too intimidating and I never felt quite sure I was doing the exercises right, until I found you that is. Again, many thanks from this fiddlin girl! 🎻 edit: I just glanced through your videos and I cannot wait to make my way through them, especially the musician ones, what a gift to the world! Musicians, baristas, seamstresses, etc all need conditioning exercises too and you’re giving that gift to the world 💙💙💙
THIS IS GREAT! I've always been "fit" as a photographer, I am using full frame large camera bodies with telephoto lenses for as long as 8 hours... these exercises are extremely valuable for my conditioning so I can continue to do these marathon photo sessions... widely neglected. I'm happy to subscribe to your channel! PHOTOGRAPHERS need to be doing this :)
+Frederick Dunn I agree Frederick. For the hours of shooting as a sports photographer and then all the editing my arms and wrists are always being stressed. These exercises are going to help heaps !.
It's been 9 years, and the Dr's advice continues to hold up. These videos are very high quality, from the production to the delivery. He is so generous for putting up these videos for free.
These exercises are helping tremendously with my golfers elbow and wrist pain (same arm), thanks a lot Dr Levi! p.s. Your instructions are very clear and concise, pleasure to follow along to
Wow mate these exercises are amazing. I have had wrist pains my whole teenage life and after just one day of these exercises has significantly reduced my pain. Great job dr levi! Your a life saver.
That’s great! Do you still do them? I have wrist forearm and elbow pain from new baby but always had weak and pain in my wrist especially when doing any exercises on my hands
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! You are my hero! I have been ramping up my swimming for 6 months- my triceps are really getting a workout, but my forearms need extra TLC. These are exercises I can even do in the office when I take a break from the computer. Thank you for showing correct positioning - and for making it *not a big deal*. :)
This guy is awesome! Ha he is so calm and knowledgeable. I wish he was my doctor lol... Got any for supporting your knee a bit better? I'm sure I could take a guess but maybe there's something I'm missing!
Licenced massage therapist here! I've been looking for a good exercise for my flexors and extensors and especially to keep my wrists strong! Love all these exercises!! Thank you!!
Hi @@Drleviharrison God Bless you! Do these excercises also improve hand motorskills? I have a bit of weakness in my fingers, especially my right thumb. and i dont have a strong/stable grip. There are times i struggle with opening bottles, picking up coins and using sciccors to cut something. Thank you for the reply Dr Levi
Fantastic video, Dr. Harrison! I just found this video and I'm at my desk (at work) trying out these first 4 exercises and come to the realization that I've been seriously neglecting my forearms! Super informative and super-accessible explanations. You got yourself a new subscriber!
I've had some sort of residual forearm and thumb pain since rock climbing in a gym a few months back. These exercises today are hitting every sore/tight spot! Thanks and God Bless You for sharing these simple stretches and strengthening exercises! I think I can head down the road to recovery now from forearm tendonitis. -Stu RN
This is seriously a great video. These exercises are simple and very effective. Sometimes it takes someone laying them out in order for you to really put them into practice. Thanks Dr. Harrison.
Dr. Garrison, I want to thank you for your hand, wrist and forearm vidoe. I am a stroke victim you probably know the effect that a stroke has on the nervous system and the chaos it can have on the hand, wrist and forearm, Your strecthing excercises at the beginning of the video have tremendously helped to strengthen and bring back tone in my left arm, and straighten out my fingers These excercises are now part of my daily therapy. God bless you for the commitment you have made to helping in my recovery.
I been experiencing some minor wrist pain while drumming recently, it's definitely an outcome of repetition. I've been playing the drums for 9 years now and I've never really worked out my wrists, forearms or hands. This is probably exactly what I need. I'm going to start this right now and I'll see if I feel better in 2 to 3 weeks. wish me luck! I'm hoping for the best.
+Krzi yeah, have you seen any improvement? Did your wrist become bigger or thick or both? :P I'm starting today with these excercises, and I would be so happy if they pay off!
+TasosEG I was able to see tremendous improvements with my wrist pain. It's difficult to do at first when you start off you'll feel sore and almost feel like you have tennis elbow, but after you get over that I definitely can say that this is one of the best decisions I've made in a while. Just start slow and keep doing it. Goodluck!
Crocheter ASL user and crafter here I have been having really bad pain in my wrists and fingers lately my Dr thinks it's the start of carpal tunnel I'm hoping with this video I can save my livelihood and my passion thank you soooo much
My wrist been bothering me from playing a lot of tennis.. i pulled up three other instructors on Utube so glad i chose you I will incorporate these great exercises in my routines thank you so much well appreciated 😊
Dr. Harrison, thank you for sharing these exercises. After using these exercises I'm now able to play much longer guitar practice sessions. Certain techniques such as barre chords and licks in which long stretches are required were just killing my wrist, as well as risking tendonitis. I'm blown away by the degree to which these exercises have improved my stamina.
I do these plus the wrist twist: while resting your forearm on your thighs, hold the dumbbell vertical and turn the wrist from -90deg through +90 deg and back (like turning a key) for a count of 1. Then repeat for a count of 2 and so on. Do 3 sets of 20. Do this one slowly and don't be tempted to use heavy weights in the beginning. ALWAYS, "Reps rule Weight" - unless you're into body building. Best wishes.
Thanks, Dr. Harrison, for the advice and exercises! These areas are routinely forgotten in strength training and I am going to include them in my routines from now on.....
I'm musician/programmer/calisthenics practioner recovering from tendonitis via physiotherapy. Now, I'm gonna add these exercises to my routine. Thanks Dr Levi Harrison!!
Him Downstairs Take care you don't wrench him right off, imagine explaining that to staff at the hospital. I lie on my hand until it falls asleep and them pretend someone else is doing it to me.
Last night I was literally about to burst into tears because of my wrist pain, so I watched your video and practiced at the same time and today my pain is gone, needless to say, this pain was chronic and I had no idea what to do in order to fix it. Thank you so much doctor.
this gave me hope for my wrist pain.. i hurt my wrist from benching over a month ago but because I am dumb I decided to keep benching through the pain and now I think I messed it up more. I am still benching but being more careful with my wrist. I am excited to do this tomorrow
You are a life saver Doctor! With the Virus I cannot work out and pulled a wrist muscle getting my German Shepherd into the car! Bought some weights yesterday and will use them tonight! God Bless 🙏
Physical therapists and personal trainers find that there is a lot of money to be made needlessly over complicating their information and techniques, Much of the information you find when you type in "hand and wrist exercises" into google is mostly the same with the major difference being the "fluff" surrounding the information in question. This video is a good example of a Doctor presenting only the relevant information with a minimum of "fluff" which is probably one of the reasons this video has almost a million views. Kudos to you Doctor Harrison.
I started riding bicycle to help improve my cardio and expand my lung capacity so I can smoke more weed. I started to exercise my hands so I have more control over my piano playing. My meaningless life makes perfect sense finally.
I am a gamer. But I recently broke my right ring finger and injured my left wrist( At a school camp) My wrist and and forearm feels great after doing these exercises One question tho. My wrists (especially my left) keeps popping during the exercises. It doesn't really hurt but I'm afraid of injuring it again. Is the popping normal or should I stop?
Hi Theophilus, Often, popping in the joint is due to nitrogen bubbles, which are being released in the joint. This is usually not a problem, especially since you don't have pain. Consult with your doctor just to be evaluated clinically. I wish you the best. Keep on exercising!
+Spenser T Why is that "LOL"? By telling Levi Harrison he's a gamer he knows which motions he's doing with his wrists. Like he said, the exercises are for a lot of different people.
I'm a professional guitar that has developed numbing pain after 45 set list. I really appreciate this video . Thank you for posting : ) . I will try this
Thanks so much for this outstanding presentation, Dr. Levi. Since I am a performing pianist the hands, wrists, and forearms are used in playing the great classical literature. Many piano concertos last for 30 minutes, some even longer. These exercises have helped me immensely. ❤️🎹🙏
Every few months my left arm/wrist/hand grows feeble and a bit sore. I was worried it might be carpal tunnel, but my doctor said it looks more like a simple repetitive strain injury. I work at a computer all day and when I'm not, one of my hobbies is gaming. It's definitely an issue caused from typing excessively. Would these exercises help to prevent something like a repetitive strain injury?
thank you so much! I’m an artist and injured both my wrists as a kid so now I have super weak and thin wrists and hands that hurt whenever I lift something heavy, do weird movements, etc. this helps a lot! thanks very much :)
Explosive Bolts Freedom of speech is a tenant of the Liberalism ideology. I think you're confusing liberals like me, bill maher, sam harris and richard dawkin. The regressive left are leftists who are not progressive, but regressive. Sjws, feminazis and so on.
Hi Dr. Harrison. Thank you for this video. Im a Massage Therapist and found this very helpful. I have passed this video to clients, coworkers, and Cosmetologist.
+Dr Levi Harrison Firstly, that video is extremely well made, thank you. Secondly, I injured my right wrist and elbow while snowboarding nearly a year ago. My wrist took the direct impact and extended while one of the two bones in my forearm that connect at the elbow got dislocated. For the most part, it is ok now but I do not have full motion like I had previously, or compared to my left arm. While doing the exercise in which I extend my wrists upward I can really feel the restriction of motion, the right wrist cannot get as vertical as the left, and my ring finger stops moving an inch before all the others. Is there anything I can do to help try and get the full motion back?
+Dr Levi Harrison I really like this video, my wrist is too weak, when im playing basketball my shots, passes are short and slow. is this can help me to increase my range? thanks alot.
I am a med student over at Bangladesh and my goal is to inspire people to workout. One of my friends told me that doctors are the embodiment of a good physique and good health.... I am doing my best... I am glad to find this channel... Wish me luck sir.. on my journey
I had a serious injury to my left arm and elbow as a result of a fall from a ladder. There was muscle and nerve damage and my arm withered away. These exercises look like they will do the trick on rebuilding muscles and strength in my arm. Physical therapy only took me so far and I feel these exercises will definitely take me to the next step in my rehab efforts for the next 6-9 months. GREAT INFO YOU PROVIDED DOC!
@@sanarehan3712 Am I recovered? Well, I am no where near I was before she accident. The arm injury was just one of many injuries sustained in the fall. Being in my 70s now, I have lost a lot of strength due to the accident and persistent back pain issues and I am sedentary a lot of the time because of the back pain. Surgery on the back is not an option since last time around it only made matters worse. My primary care, neurologist and pain management Drs all suggested to stay away from the OR. So I live life via modern chemistry; which isn’t good either.
Dr. Levi, these is what I was looking for. I can’t get up if I’m on the ground because of weak hands, wrist and forearms. It is knowing that I am so vulnerable. I’m excited to begin doing the exercise. The big bonus or icing on the cake is that you are easy on the eyes. Thank you in advance.
I can only use one hand due to cerebral palsy in the other hand and recently had carpal tunnel surgery. These may just be what I need to strengthen hand back up. I did see a therapist for the treatment after surgery.but no longer have a car for more sessions. And I don't have the exercises they have me at that time. So these are great. Thank you.
Self rehabilitation post stroke survivor;Thank you i was a Dancer and I used to do those excersise during my commute to Social Events thanks for the reminder I had the Best Body on the Dance floor Praying Mantis.😊Bless you May your Practice Prosper for Paying it forward!
I'm a cellist and have been struggling lately with weak and tired hands/fingers. I will most definitely be adding these to my routine to help my playing and prevent injuries!
Great info. Am in rehab for wrists and hands. Only note is to start with less weight and build. Caution for Over stressing. I am 70 and average build and always tend to do more to get better results. Therapist warned against too much weight for body.
This is video is a godsend! Just what I was looking for as my forearms are super skinny as well as my calfs like you said! I’m looking forward to this also helping my wrist pain during computer work!!! THANK YOU, DR. LEVI!!! ❤
You are the best! I was having so much pain in my wrist and with these strengthening exercises the pain is gone. Thank you Doctor for your knowledge. God bless you! ❤❤❤❤
I was having right wrist pain and then i stubbled upon you channel .. simple effective and kind ... God bless ..thanks for doing what you love keep.going
Awesome video. Really enjoy his demeanor and delivery. The tutorial is well planned, produced and so easy to follow. So many content providers blast through everything or get caught up in their "man speak" that it's hard to follow. Thank you Dr. Levi.
Thank to for this amazing video! Saved me from wrist pain that’s been bothering me for a year being a new mom. I’ve tried a lot of vids to stretch my wrist, yoga, and even acupuncture, nothing seemed to work for me. Today I just did this exercise for the first time and i actually feel stronger on my forearm and very little pain on my wrist. Now I know I have to strengthen my muscles to prevent injuries like this! Thank you so much doctor 🙏
Thanks for that. After a few months of having Chikungunya virus, I have found that my forearms had become particularly weak. This adds to my repertoire for helping to bring them back to normal.
