I liked Robert from the start and I'm glad he's still by your side. Seems like you're happy with his work so I hope it'll stay that way. Cheers from Europe!
We’ll done Robert (and Andy)! As an amateur furniture maker, I enjoyed the deeper dive into the toughest joints, and watching how you approach things like curves and coves with hand tools.
I think that you and Robert both do an outstanding job on the builds that you make. I enjoy watching real craftsman work doing this. I’ve been a woodworker for a long time and I enjoy watching other people build as well. Keep up the good work.
Good job Robert I watched you from the 1st day starting with Andy who is sporting a bad case of OCD ! I thought it’s not going to work? But Robert you have thrived and learned so much! Great pick Andy in a really smart employee!
I can't believe how quickly Robert has picked up the techniques it only seems 5 minutes ago he started. That is a beautiful piece Andy. The attention to detail is outstanding you and Robert should be proud. Regards Jim UK.
andy i love your videos i too am a wood worker of 20 yrs plus of experience. although i dont have the big shop or tools like you i will say your videos are inspiring for me to make and do the best i can with what i have to put out great things take care
This video is a great example of why I enjoy your channel. As a woodworker myself I really enjoy the shots of when your both just working and talking through the build and essentially ignoring the camera. Reminds me of Ishitani’s channel. Great work by both you and Robert.
I was thinking as the video went on that Robert was really getting more involved in the builds and how his skill set has grown. Great job Robert and great job Andy being such a good teacher.
I did notice that Robert is doing more and more of the tough operations and is doing great! This bench came out fantastic. Live Oak is not fun to work with, but the results are beautiful. Andy, the fuming really made the colors pop. I like it a lot. Finally, good on you for using local woods like Live Oak and Pecan on your projects.
Great video Andy. You look tired at the end of the video, time for a getaway with the family? Robert certainly is coming into his own and nice to see him taking on more responsibility for these creations. Thanks
Andy, let me tell you how good this video is: First, having you explaining some of the details while we look at the final peace, and then go to the process of building that part, was a great option. Then the quality of the image is great. Don't know if there's any change there, but looked very clean. Then, I'm watching the video and thinking how cool it is to see you sharing your knowledge with Robert. Then I thought "it would be great if we could watch that sharing related with hand tools work.... And there it was. Then I thought that this video was not showing the details of the building, but that's ok, because you've already done that in other videos... And then you explain exactly that. So.... It's not only one of the most beautiful peaces that you have built, but also one step forward in your connection with us, who love to watch your videos. Because it shows care and attention from you. I still prefer the step by step building videos and consider the most interesting ones, but this one nailed it, just as much. Robert transmits a very good and humble energy, that goes perfect with your vibe and the vibe of the channel. All the luck to you guys.
Beautiful bench. Really liking this style of video. Robert done good! Yay Robert! Noticed "bar stools" on the list. I'd like to see them...style, design process, and build. I am about to build a second set, styled like a "bent metal" stool with chamfered corners on the legs. Not a right angle in the entire build. My daughter will be happy no matter how many mistakes I make...
There’s an adjustment bolt in the jig that account for that. We put a big square in the face of the jig and square it the bottom of the legs. It’s difficult to explain but I think I touched on it in one of the videos I linked in the description.
