Andy Rawls - I carved this wooden bowie knife using various hand tools and my sanders. The blade and blade guard were made from hickory and the handle is curly walnut. The knife measures around 14" long and was finished with a simple oil.

Just a thought for your 1 Mill subscribers video, you could make something simple. That doesn't utilize a lot of time or material, and make like 50,000, and do a give away. Like I said just a thought.

Awesome video thank you for sharing , I just enjoy and learning , I just know I’m learning a lot and the more information that’s thrown at me , I just try to absorb as much as I can so I can keep improving my skills It’s a process and I’m learning that as I go along but thanks for videos like yours it’s a teaching tool , sometimes I have to ask myself why is doing something that I’m not sure about but then when I see the end result hopefully I understood what was done and why it was done a certain way , again thank you for you and at least helping me on my woodworking journey that I have learned to enjoy

My suggestion is Alex Steele, or go online, a company called Whole Earth Supply. I have bought I have bought all my knives from them, then made a handle for them. Good quality and pretty good price as far as I have found.

Man, that's awesome! Just out of curiosity (and to learn something), why did you use epoxy on the handle instead of just wood glue?

both would do. Not sure of type of wood used, but wood glue won't stick to oily wood. Another reason is that epoxy can fill wee gaps. With wood glue you need perfect contact. The only other reason is drying time. Maybe this is fast drying epoxy. Wood glue usually needs 12-24h for a really strong bond. Oh, and not all wood glues are water proof. I guess this could be left out in the rain.

You don’t need a forge to make a knife I’ve made a couple knives using the stock removal technic. There are more than enough videos on RU-vid that can teach you like they taught me and you don’t really need any fancy and expensive machinery to make them
