Handler Walter - The Most Burdened Character in Armored Core

Don't forget that Walter was "Reeducated" by the Vesper scientists.

It's tragic what happens to Walter in each ending. In the Fires of Raven ending, his legacy, his lifetime, of pursuing the end to the harm of Coral...ultimately leads to a repetition of the tragedy that shaped him. In the Liberator of Rubicon ending, he is scarred and tormented by Arquebus, then finds himself in a conflict against perhaps his closest companion. A conflict he can't bring himself to finish, despite his mental conditioning and the unbearable burden of the Institute. And when the die is cast, he isn't even there to see it.

Great video. And can we just acknowledge Patrick Seitz, Walter's VA, and his amazing job throughout the game. Especially during his boss fight.

I hated fighting Walter not because he is a challenging boss, but because I came to like him especially everytime he worries for us and defended our capabilities and dignity when others question it.

Walter is a father in a way, a great one; his restraint shows his love for his "child" 621.

Yesss, another lore narration! I don't play AC, but the story and elements sound amazing! An particular fact that I found is about Walter's logo is you notice is hand, however, you can notice a bunch of strings around the wrist, meaning there's someone else that is also watching over Walter.

I believe, Walter learned through 621 that there was another way. He put aside his personal biases, and the pain he had to go though, because he saw hope in us. I respect that!

Walter just doesn't see the past the dangers of coral and its potential, I will never align myself with Walter no matter his burdens and the horrors he witnessed in order to partake in the mission and becoming a part of the horror, like there's a reason following his instruction is called the bad ending, and as a honorable merc I wouldn't assist in the genocide of an entire alien species and the death of every Rubiconian just because they experienced first hand the dangers of coral, that's like discovering fire and getting hurt when touch and then destroying fire with rock not realizing fire is neither good nor bad it is simply potential and it is humanity that will inevitably decide whether they should accept it or not, it's not in his hands nor the overseers to decide the fate of humanity. They anticipated the coral to contaminate space but they didn't envision it to simply propagate in the vastness of space like in the true ending, where it doesn't actually harm anyone or anything it just spreads coral, and coral isn't bad by nature people simply used it the wrong way weaponizing it, making augmentation implementing it, making the Ibis series, and siphoning it to be sold as a resource when humans can achieve symbiosis slowly but surely with coral and we can co exist and come into an agreement to improve each other, they can propagate in space and serve as an endless fuel source for us like that mission to defend the Xylem against Arquebus ships where it constantly supplies us with endless boosts at the same time we can give them the opportunity to communicate with us and become a part of our world giving them mechanical bodies to serve as our helpers. Anyways the potential is endless, and thus sniffing out that potential is something I do not take kindly with just because some geriatric had a rough childhood surrounded by grim experimentations and internal conflict within the institute.

While I believe the fires of Raven ending is the most likely to be the Canon ending if fromsoft decides to continue this setting The Liberator ending is definitely the ending with the best outcome for everyone at least compared to the other two endings
