I thought it was just me. I feel I actually damaged my positive relationship with my dog. Specific checkpoints are a really good idea. Thanks!🤝

This is so true! My first dog I showed was absolutely bored to death being shown because I utilized handling classes to train myself more than my dog. My second was trained much less and was much showier in the ring.

This video makes me feel so much better! Thank you! I was thinking to do a few puppy training classes for the reasons you said: the experience of being in a ring with other dogs, etc. I’m very busy so I’m excited to hear I can practice for 10 min a day or so at home. 💗🤭🙌 Thank you! This video was amazing and makes me feel so much better! 💗💗 🙌

Absolutely! This is how I use them, people think I am crazy but I don’t care, it’s what is best for my dog that counts 😊

This video was sooo helpful! Thank you! I didn’t realize 10 min a day is “enough” I’ll start working with my girl tomorrow. 💗🙌 Where can I get the stacking tools? I don’t have a table appropriate for my girl- she’s a Cane Corso and probably 60lbs -or so 😅 6 months old.

Once again, amazing advice! I've been out of the ring for 3 years and had planned upon attending a local kennel club conformation class to hone my skills. Your idea of the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes in the ring is brilliant.

Excellent advice. I think I just realized my dog was bored this past weekend. I watched a video of our ring and noted the difference between the Bob winner and my dog SD. It was so obvious! We have attended many handling classes just as you described. Perfect timing for me to watch this video and I hope I can make changes with my dog and it is not too late for him. Thank you

Hi, we have a 7 month old puppy and we are about to go to her first show. We have done some ringside classes for experience and some training.. but I never really knew how to train.. we’ve just been told to practice. I’ve enjoyed and learnt a lot from your videos. My question is, at 7 months old is our Vizsla too old to train for a show ring? (She is quite full on) Thank you

My dog and I are totally new to this sport and see what you are saying. My dog is bored but we both need these classes. Is this recoverable? If you stop the classes can you regain your dog's excitement?

Your instructor should be helping you with keeping your dog engaged. We actually played little games in my handling classes. Occasionally we would run our patterns backwards. We would have two dogs do a down and back at the same time. My instructor had handled multiple breeds for years. I always got great comments from the judges for how well he showed, even if we didn’t place.
