The art of making the least amount of gold look like the most amount of gold

It's very basic with nominal tools but still effective with an experienced craftsman. There is a tool for every operation and specialty but in truth you can do a lot with but a few tools.

I read about that trick with the modeling clay and investment (plaster) in an old issue of Lapidary Journal but I've never had occasion to use it. Gold is great stuff, too bad it's gotten so high a lot of people can't afford it and I find myself working in silver. That is one big ass rolling mill.
