Have you ever imagined a leather punch tool hand-made out of a ' shock absorber cylinder tube'?
At the beginning of the video we can see a useless car shock abosorber I bought in less than one dollar. The 'useful material' is the 'internal seamless cylinder tube' (1/16" thick approx.) which is not a simple metallic piece. This cylinder was made out of hardened steel and other alloys to endure friction and torsion. After sharpening (35° angle approx.) the end edge of this tube it is able to cut round shapes not only leather but other thicker materials.
The bigger Ø size are the tubes the bigger are the round cut figures.
This punch tool makes 1 1/4" diameter round cuts. I want to notice the 'new punch tool' (30 cm long) could be cut shorter.
I am working on a new project for our channel to wrap in leather some upholstery buttons with a 'button press machine' but I would need a larger 1 3/4" Ø tube for my small leather pieces I would use to cover the buttons.
I hope you enjoy and find it useful!
