I've often thought of making a set of cards to put together in a set to give as a gift for our annual Christmas gift swap! This just solidifies the idea! Thank you!
I'm sure you thought of this, but the excess strip could have a small short sentiment like...love you...flip it over and you've just doubled your strip usage.
So very beautiful and such a thoughtful and caring gift to make and give. I did a similar thing last year for my sister’s 70th birthday but did 24 different 4x4 inch Christmas cards. I also made 12 different gift tags, along with a handmade unusual paper wallet to put everything in, and 24 postage stamps. 🤗
I made my MIL a set of note cards with different sentiments on it for her birthday and she loved it but I think for Christmas I will have the sentiments on the side like you did. Wonderful idea! Thank you as always!
I also make card sets for gifts but I make a folding portfolio out of heavy paper fabric. I try and find military Mom's to gift....they use a lot of cards!
Thanks so much for these great ideas for taking a gift of homemade cards to the next level! I have a bunch of canvas cosmetics bags that I bought a while ago & this would be perfect! I love using up what I have! You are the queen of awesome ideas!!! 😊❤️😊❤️
I love gifting handmade cards. I too add the postage stamps, but putting them in that reusable canvas bag is fantastic. I will be using that idea this year. TFS! The cards you made are beautiful!
I love this idea but I’m thinking of making the cards in bulk for Widows’ birthdays which is my ministry. I happened to notice that you have your Altenew ink pads labeled on the edge and I would like to know how you did this or you ordered them somewhere. I have an ink pad storage unit but I need colored labels for each of them. Can you help me create or find something?
Omg this is a brilliant idea!! I’ve been trying to think of handmade and customizable presents for the holiday and this is perfect. I love the idea of giving them a pack of sentiments to choose from.
I love the rose stencil and hot foiling for this card. After seeing it the first time, I could not sleep. I have been on Altenew's website and they do not have the rose for the foiling in yet. I promise to use your link for it. Ty Jennifer, the black Friday sales have already begun and I feel blessed. LOL
I love these sets, it has been a long time since I made this kind of gift & I really want to make some more. Thank you for sharing Jennifer, you a huge inspiration to all who follow you
Yellow is my favourite colour too, all the cards are beautiful and the idea of cards for gifts at Christmas is such a good idea. I have made cards for family this year too.
Hi Jennifer, I just wanted to tell you that you and Kristina have been my favorite card makers for years. I used to make cards and get inspired by both of you. Unfortunately, 3 years ago I had a stroke and since then because of left sided hemiparesis I have not been able to make any cards.😥 I promised to myself as soon as I get my left hand and arm back the first thing I will do is buy a bunch of supplies. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
I wish I lived nearby.....I would come over and we could work together to make cards. Praying a return to good health and card making for you. Sincerely, Denise King
Amazing! These are stunning! Then the idea of embossing over a colored image, mind is blown. I hope that isn't the correct address for your Mom. I just worry there are some crazies out there, even stalking sweet crafty people.
Jennifer you are totally AMAZING! What an amazing gift idea, love, love love it. I will definitely make this for my mum. She will absolutely love this gift. Thank you for this wonderful gift idea. Love ALL your ideas and tutorials. I look forward to each one. Thank you and stay safe. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jennifer, I want to buy this paper for hot foiling but when I go to the link it says 32 pound in description but on label in picture its 100 is this the right paper?
It's very confusing .. I know... the photo is correct but the description is not in the Amazon listing. Not sure why. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SN0PI88/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=jenmcgink-20
Love that wonderful floral design. And to see a bunch of cards in different colors with it, is so gorgeous. I planned to give my family a set of cards for different occasions, but every card is different. So I'm absolutely in love with your idea. Love it, that you make bags with everything ready to finish a card with the perfect sentiment and to send it. I will keep this wonderful idea in my mind. Thank you for that, Jennifer. 😘
Hi Jennifer, I’ve been gifting card sets in the same way for a few years and it all started after watching one of your videos. I often include a variety of sentiment strips and/or monogram letters. I also started including a note with the card share stamp that you included in another of your videos. To my surprise, it’s very popular and often requested. I’ve been exchanging snail mail with a small group of friends & family for decades and creating my own stationery has been fun. Thank you so much for the inspiring and informative videos!
A great idea. I love the stamp sets that have stamps, dies, hot foil and stencils. The industry keeps improving the products which makes card making more fun. Thank you for sharing this set.
These cards are just wonderful to make as set gifts. I love the idea. I though of just covering the whole card front tucking all edges behind before adhering to the card with some plastic packaging and making shaker cards out of them. Jennifer, you get my creative ideas flowing!!!
Your design is much faster than what I do. I usually take a set and vary the layout on each card. Like the zippered bag idea. Thanks for all you kindness, Jennifer.
Wow what a fabulous gift and I love the layering effects of the stencils, that is really nice. Thanks for more inspirations Jennifer, love your work. Take care! 💜
What an amazing idea and gift! I can’t imagine how elated the recipient must be, so thoughtful, generous and ingenious! It also compounds the love and caring.
Love this - I too have done card sets as gifts - I like to do 4-5 cards with envelopes, put them in A2 clear plastic box and then put a ribbon around it. I recently did a basket for a charity event of handmade card sets, stamps, a nice pen and paper pad that I decorated the sides of and some plain post it notes. A great gift for someone that is house bound but loves to send cards. Thank you for the idea to include various sentiment strips!
I’m not sure you are aware that the Amazon link for the Hammermill card stock takes you to 32lb paper rather than 100lb…probably because 100lb is not available. I ordered but then realized it was for 32 lb and was able to cancel. I assumed you probably use 100 lb Hammermill for foiling, but please correct me if I’m wrong. I hope to use your idea and supplies in my stash to make some card sets for friends and family. Love the idea of printing return address labels and using the canvas bags.
@@jennifermcguireink thank you. The Amazon description is so confusing because the product title says one weight and size and the picture show a different weight and size. It’s good to know you’ve used that link and received the 100lb paper (or do you use 32lb for foiling?).
