PYRA AND MYTHRA ARE OUT NOW AND I HAVE THEM! Here is my first ever hands on gameplay with the newest Super Smash Bros Ultimate characters, and my impressions on them. They are GOOD! Like... REALLY REALLY GOOD. They are going to be a problem, here I'll show why.

@swag flower Ganon F Smash attacks kill about ~5% earlier. Up Smash is ~7% earlier. And hitting both hits of his down smash, he kills a whooping ~25% earlier on Down Smash. I tested all 3 at ledge trying to go the bare minimum kill percent on Bowser. Both of these characters are insanely powerful.

@@Nekotaku_TV It's an asymmetrical stage with a big slant. No elitist will ever agree to playing on that. Hell, they didn't even consider Northern Cave for legality, and that stage is about as neutral a DLC stage will ever get. Just forget about DLC stages being tournament legal at this point.

@@herewego5679 Mythra can recover, but not Pyra. However, since their switch mechanic works the same as the Pokemon Trainer, this won't be a problem for Pyra.

@@MachineGunMac Depends on the angle she gets launched. Her recovery from my testing is a little better than little macs vertically for Mythra. The drifting is what helps her recovery.(Note. This my first time testing anything in smash for my self so take it with a grain of salt.) The side be is really good though. I also found out that when you swap you can dript toward ledge faster.

I mean, I wouldn't describe her moveset as super unique. Don't get me wrong, she's extremely fun to play and Pyra/Mythra is my new main, but most of her tilts and aerials are somewhat generic sword slashes... She is definitely a unique overall character because of pyra though, and has a few particularly interesting moves mixed in (mainly ray of punishment/chroma dust and photon edge).

I think they'll be pretty easy to gimp too once we get used to it. Pyra is really telegraphed because she has to practically hug the wall, while if you read which way Mythra recovers you can handle her fairly easily. Side B is definitely safer because dear god that range, but if she's not able to use it or you learn how to punish it... yea.

H-Box overhyping her like hell. She isn't as good as he says she is. Mythra and Pyra's moves can be clunky at times, Photon Edge is super easy to punish and interrupt, Prominence Revolt isn't that good of an out of shield option, etc. She's good, but not top 3 good. Oh, also: A ton of the stuff that H-Box was popping off about isn't even true.

Smash players are always good say " Its broken" within 1 out kf playing and bot seeing how it matches again actually players and not bots and not just play 1 game but days worth of games. This character is above average and if they nerf he because all the pros are saying " they are broken" then she will land lowe to mud tier.

@@aaDryBones I never said Pyra was better Mythra is better obviously. I just like the way Pyra plays and the Ledge trapping you can do with her. Not to mention I think she is cuter as well. I am a Ike main and Pyra is like a slower version. Pyra does have some solid kill confirms btw she isn't as bad as everyone thinks.

what makes them so strong is their lack of weaknesses, hero has crits and strong spells but is limited by mp, sephiroth has strong kill moves and big hitboxes but his moves are slow and he is light, these two make up for each others weaknesses, the only thing they are missing is a long ranged spamable projectile

idk what the hype is all about. sure, Pyra's F-smash can kill at 44% on the ledge uncharged and at 18% when fully charged, but King Dedede's uncharged F-smash kills at 28% with the same conditions, and his fully charged f-smash kills at *4%.* I guess it is very quick so it is still technically a better move Also an added note, Ganon's kill percents for uncharged and charged are 39% and 12%. Also I ran a test on all 3 fighters' "Big moves" (Flame nova, Jet hammer, and warlock punch) and got the kill percentages to be 36%, 26%, and *3%* respectively

Healthy reminder that... DADDY SAKURAI SPECIFIED PYRA'S FORWARD SMASH WAS HELLA STRONG. When you look at the moveset in training mode, it also tells how her Forward Smash is an exclusive high damage move for Pyra. It needs no nerf. For all we know... Its already nerfed.
