Rounds 8-11 Lomachenko outlanded Haney and landed the harder more accurate shots as well. Lomachenko won 7-5. Lomachenko deserved the win because he had the better game plan landed the better shots. Compubox lied about the punch stats to make the close rounds seem as if they both landed the same or near the same amount thus discrediting Lomachenkos combination punching.

Love you Paulie !! You said you're not sure if Ryan made adjustments to make Haney look bad. Ryan took away Haney's jab by landing early , and by faking the jab into a hook by using different feints. Also Paulie, Ryan Garcia used lateral movement similar to that of Floyd Mayweather-esqe , not comparing them linearly, but Ryan's footwork was much better. Ryan Garcia also showed more patience, and had exceptional timing.

Ryan clearly won but that judges score was way closer than the judge who scored it 115-109. People are acting like he dominated the whole fight. He didn’t. Without hose late knockdowns, he loses handily. What fight was that judge watching? Garcia lost rounds 2 thru 5, one late round between knockdowns and could have lost round 12 to a judge. Add that bullshit point deduction and this scorecard should have been way closer than hat last judge made it. The 112-112 was only off a point or two in all reality.

Thanks for this very astute analogy Paulie. This fight taught us more about Devin’s deficiencies than it did about Ryan’s talents. That said, it cannot be denied that Ryan deserves to be in the conversation regarding the top ten fighters in his weight class. That said, we’ll likely know a lot more about Ryan over the course of his next 2-3 fights. One thing we can say is that Ryan’s left hand is 🔥. Devin is a good fighter and he trained for that left and he still got stung.

This is why you never go down in weight in boxing. I truly believe Ryan made that fight with Tank in an attempt to save boxing. He wanted a big fight. Exactly, Haney should have been training for that left hook about 90% of his training camp should have been all about Ryan's left hook SMH we all knew Ryan had a knockout left hook prior to the weigh-in and that wind had nothing to do with Ryan Landing that left hook on Devin. It's like no one wants to talk about how Devin was actually winning the fight for the first half of the fight the first six rounds. But Ryan was able to land that left hook in the 7th round and that changed everything and that had nothing to do with the way and that had everything to do with Devin not sticking to his plan and allowing Ryan and land that shot cleanly

What’s sad is these boxers get clowned and ridiculed when they lose. It’s no wonder why they duck each other so much or fight boxers well beneath their skill level. Garcia's body has certainly improved greatly over a very short time period the last few months. I'm not accusing him of taking banned substances, but he must be taking something legal that works. There are actually steroids out there that are legal and can't be picked up on current PED tests.

A lot of selective memory in the comments. To be fair to Paulie. He has been critical of Haney for years (for good reason, as we all see now). As recently as a fight ago, he was critical. He got this one wrong, as did just about everyone. The thing I saw in this one was the lack of defense on the jab. Haney leaves his hand down when shooting that arrow jab. He doesn’t always do it but if Garcia keep countering with the left hook he was gojng to find haneys chin. How Haney would react to the hook was the question.

“Pressure job in a pressure fight” I was saying myself that the ref had to have done his homework because both guys got away with a lot of stuff. This was a grudge match from their amateur days…a rubber match. The ref probably knew there was more animosity going into this fight than other fights. It’s a big stage, it’s a 12 rd fight. He could’ve taken more points from Ryan after the first occurrence as well. I thought he did a good job in the fact that, like you said, it was a pressure job in a pressure fight. It wasn't the weight. Haney does not have a chin period! He just moved up to 140lbs against Prograis in December and analyst were saying Haney looks "strong", "superior boxer" and would be unstoppable/hard to beat at 140. And some said "Haney now doesn't have to drain himself like he was doing at 135lbs and thus 140lbs is much easier to make and fight in." All of a sudden, "the last 3 pounds are the hardest to loose," "he was drained because he stuck to the contract weight." Haney is either strong at 140 or he's not. Make it make sense.

Quick breakdown! Paulie vs Broner, Broner does back foot, front foot Paulie immediately fires combinations, because Broner is locked in place, and has to wait until Paulie stops punching. Devin had those opportunities when Ryan turned sideways in a high guard, he can just fire off combinations and Ryan would have to wait until he stopped punching to respond, but he never did it.

This is the second pro fighter that mentioned Garcia not making weight and having a rehydration… it makes a huge difference. Garcia gets a lot of credit but it was not a completely even playing field

He fought tank at 136 with a 10 pound rehydration clause. Garcia weight under 146 when he fought Tank. With Haney he weighed easy 160 to 170. HUGE difference. And Haney drained himself to make 140 Garcia didn’t drain himself to 140 he only got to 143.2 and the last 3.2 pounds is like your soul leaving you. If you have never done it then you have no clue how much of a big deal it is for your body/energy levels but also how well you can take a shot. Haney showed true championship heart but he did get exposed on defending that hook.

Between the ref saving Devin from a KO and the one judge calling it a draw makes Devin's career suspect. Devin was gifted a decision over Loma and he was gifted a victory in Mexico in his early days. These are not one-off circumstances these are constant red flags.

Factors of why Haney lost to Garcia. One he took him lightly. Two Garcia fought him in the amateurs so he already knew his style. Three Devin forgot that Ryan is just as fast as him with power. Four he's a bit bigger stronger than him. Five only way Devin beats Garcia is by boxing 🥊 perfect and it would require some Floyd or bhop tactics of 👔 tieing up Ryan to not let him set up. But how will you do that when this man has more power and has the same speed as you. All in all, Ryan Garcia style is all bad for Devin. More than likely beats him in a rematch.
