This is a drone video of Hangan Village on Buka Island.
The video was shot blindly as there was no transmission to the mobile phone from the DJI Pro 3 copter.
What is interesting about villages in Buka and may be to a larger extent Bougainville is that people are resilient.
Rebuilding from a period of blockade as a result of the Bougainville conflict, they have risen above all and rebuilt their lives.

Now the government has pulled in 24 hour electricity with easy pay meters and sealed the main road from Buka town, people are enjoying urban life in the village.
Their main cash crops are copra and cocoa.
Agriculture, fishing and subsistence marketing do make ends meet for the villagers.
