Hangar 9 Giant Scale P-47 Crash due to an electrical short. Receiver, battery and most of the servo wires were fried by the time we reached the crash site. Since the crash there has been much speculation about the cause; it was an electrical short and that setup a chain of events which lead to the crash.

Hi J. Smith, I hear ya... I have 2 Topflite GS P-47's waiting for me to start on at least one of them. I will convert it to a razorback, haave all of the parts, engine, servos,, switches, robart retracts converted to electric and so on...

last week while on take off with a balsa U.S.A. thunderbug 120 with a dle 20cc engine, out over the iowa corn, 7ft tall, I attempted a roll and went into the same attitude. in a split second I was going to crash. pulled up elevator and it started flying. my sprinkle of TERROR.

Tip Stalled. Plane to heavy for that maneuver. Had that happen to me. Airspeed dropped and I fell out the sky within 3 seconds. P-47 is a smooth flying plane. Love it. Its time to get another P-47 Thunderbolt. Drinks on me

Sorry man...this a nice plane, o crashed my spitfire on take off...is really hard to see all destroyed...

Bummer, i have one of these with a DA 50cc gas engine. Hope that doesn't happen to me.

Too bad. They don't make them like that anymore. (They literally don't make that plane in a 1.50 anymore, I don't think)

Shame to see a big bird go in, I noticed in the wreckage you use those pushrod clamps on almost every servo, I wont fly a plane with those things, seen many many planes do that same maneuver when a rod slips or screw comes loose.

Matthew, you and J Smith are both wrong in this case it was not a tip stall. The electrical system shorted out and that is what caused the crash.

Hate to say it and I know this is an old vid but J Smith is right. This is clearly a tip stall and pilot error. You felt like something was off probably because you were over propped.
