Hangin’ with MONKEYS on a MOUNTAIN!! [[Arashiyama Monkey Park | Kyoto, Japan | December 2023]] 

Arashiyama Monkey Park in Kyoto, Japan is an incredible place to visit! This was easily top of our list of favorites!
It’s a HIKE to the top so be sure you are well and able to hike a hill. It is mostly paved but there are steps, turns and steep areas. It is so worth it though and our 5 and 8 yr old kiddos made it to the top (with only minimal complaints!)
Once at the top they will tell you the very strict rules to follow and if you do not follow them you will be asked to leave. You are only able to feed the monkeys while INSIDE the hut. This is to ensure the monkeys know where food is coming from. Inside, you are able to buy a bag of food, and it’s limited to one bag per person so the monkeys aren’t over fed.
We could have easily stayed there for HOURS! I think we stayed for almost 2 hours before deciding to leave and move on to other things!
If you are able to get up a hill, I highly recommend adding this to your list of things to do when in Kyoto!!
