There's something hilariously ironic about the little "bloop bloop bloop," which the characters in the skit find painfully unfunny, totally breaking Joel irl.

I will forever do the "cow milking" gesture whenever meeting new people in honor of our fallen warrior.

The worst part is, if you know yourself well enough and don‘t attend scenarios like this, because you know it‘s a lose-lose situation, people are going to judge you and consistently ask why you didn‘t come

I had these two friends that were like a feedback loop of insanity. They just kept hyping each other up until they were running around like children at a birthday party after cake. Individually they were awesome, in big groups they were awesome. But those two and less than 3 other people were an energy supernova that killed everyone in its radius

If anything, Trent is the adorable teddy bear that grounds everyone else, without his understatedness the other two would become insufferably tiresome.

I'm glad this ended with them breaking. I don't think my heart could have taken a truly sad Trent ending.

I remember years ago I tried to have a gathering and bring my two friend groups together because I thought they would all like each other and it was a disaster. It looked like a middle school dance where the one group was all gathered together in one corner and the other was about ten feet away. They barely interacted with each other, and these were adults.

This is what I love the most about Joel's videos: A bunch of friends doing a bunch of silly stuff together and simply having fun. The end where they all break character put a big dumb smile on my face.

I think we all feel this a bit. Some friends just have a different energy, and sometimes your larger friend group is made of personalities that don't mesh together well on their own. It's not that you don't like them or don't care about them, it's more like you haven't spent enough time together, different interests, or something else.

I remember one time these two friends I’m less close with and I were at my middle school’s dance marathon (basically a shorter equivalent of Thon or MiniThon). It wasn’t long before we were all very much in agreement that “Yeah, we need Hannah (friend who we were all closer with than each other, but wasn’t there) here.”

This is why I only hang out with one friend at a time. I have one of those personalities that is far from neutral and standard, so my friend's friends usually make things odd. The chance that they will also get along perfectly with me is a bit low. Either they or I stop talking and kinda just zones out.

Now I feel guilty for being a Mitsy, but to be fair my roommate and I had an energy and our mutual friend, we'll call him Nick, just... offset our energy by interrupting with these juvenile, kindergarten level questions that he didn't really want to elaborate with. Like my roommate and I would be talking about Doug Ford and Nick would interrupt with, "Hey. What's your favourite Pokemon?" We would engage and start discussing our favourite Pokemon and why we like 'em so much, and he would then go, "Hey. Who's your favourite WWE wrestler right now?" without even talking about Pokemon after bringing it up. No, he was not stoned on marijuana. It's... just who he is.

In college I had good friends in the jazz department, sketch comedy group, and my roommates, all of which had nicknames for me; Gonzo, Brown Matt, matty G/ Matt The W. Whenever any of them ran into me and someone from the other group it was always so weird. Hahaha

The sad thing is while I’m in Trent in a three person group. Rather than sitting on the couch I would be relaxing alone in the bedroom upstairs or looking wistfully at my phone while painfully trying to distract myself away from the conversation. It doesn’t help that when I try to make comment that matches the atmosphere it totally kills the vibe and banishes back into the abyss of my dark phone screen.

my old group of friends worked so well together, then a new dude was added to the mix and first one of us ended up leaving the group and later i did. that new guys entire shtick was to just pick one person to furiously attack. the rest of us would joke around with eachother but it was always spread around equally, it was clearly banter between friends, this new dude just soloed in on one person and would be relentless. ended up leaving that group of friends, had been part of it for like 10 years, but man did my mental health improve after. damn shame that one person entirely fucked with the dynamic to the point at least three of us (another ended up leaving later afaik) just couldnt be part of it anymore, but life is dynamic so you gotta adapt. i miss the guys i vibed with but they made their choice so i made mine too. gotta move forwards in life to places where you feel good about yourself.
