Hank Williams Did Not Die in West Virginia 

Hank Williams the greatest country singer ever. His short life was incredible.

I never thought about it that way. I always accepted the story the way it was presented. But after hearing this, I’ll bet that’s exactly what happened, or at least more accurate than the story he died en route.

The coroner stated that Hank was last seen alive in Bluefield, WV. Bluefield, at that time was about an hour and 20 minute drive to Oak Hill, where the gas station attendant reached in and found that Hank had passed away. I had heard, growing up in Bluefield, that Hank had stopped at this local bar, and gotten beat up pretty bad. That stretch from Bluefield to up past Beckley is a very curvy two lane road on Hwy 19. I can only imagine that last stretch of road, along with freezing temps was not a very pleasant way to go out. God bless Hank, and all that he gave us. He would be 100 next year, but we only got 29.

I have always believed Hank was dead when they left the hotel to begin with.

I've always thought that Hank was beat and robbed the night before New Years day '53. There was a hitch hiker picked up that night, wasn't it too cold and snowy for anyone to be hitch hiking? Carr might have picked him up at the store where he stopped to see if Hank wanted anything to eat. On the way, on down the road, It could be that Hank needed to pull over to if nothing else but to relieve himself, and was beat and robbed by the Hitch Hiker and the driver was too scared to tell all. The hitch hiker never did report that he road with the Great Hank Williams. Never mentioned anywhere. Hank always had a lot of cash on his person and I think it was maybe talked about between the two. He had a welt on his head, meaning he was knocked down unexpectedly, was kicked in the groin area, and had some broken ribs. He was then put back in the car, the kid scared half to dead himself, let the hitch hiker out in the next town. Hank was dead way before he got to Oak Hill, he was already cold. I would say that Hank did die of a Heart Attack, because of the beating his body withstood. One will never know if there was cash on him at Oak Hill. Was his hat even found? Was it with him at Oak Hill? or left on the side of the road. Was his clothes and Boots still wet from the wet weather that night? A lot of Questions should have been asks that were not. This is my thoughts only, No accusations intended, It's been too long ago to ever know the truth of what really happen that night to the very best Singer and Songwriter that ever walked on the face of this Earth, HANK WILLIAMS.

Charles Carr passed away a few years ago and pretty much took his silence to the grave with him. In his defense he was an 18 year old kid with a dead famous entertainer in the back seat of that Cadillac and must have been really scared by the whole situation. Not to his credit is his near complete lack of providing any information about Williams' last few days alive and the circumstances of Williams' death. He apparently felt he could have some legal liability for something he did. The autopsy pathologist was Dr. Ivan Malinin. The Malinins were refugees from the Soviet Union and in that time's suspicion of possible Russian spies and subversives, Dr. Ivan was lucky to find a position even in remote Fayette and Raleigh counties West Virginia. From what I've been able to research, Malinin had been well educated in the USSR, had proper training and experience, and was a well qualified and competent coroner/medical examiner. The weak link in those days was laboratory capability, especially in toxocology. They just didn't have the ability to check for drugs anywhere near what labs can do nowadays. Dr. Ivan's career trail is ice cold these many years later. Back in the late 90's there was some third hand rumor that he had a sister ( maybe a widow) in Chicago who got his notebooks and case reports. These would be unofficial observations made during procedures, some in Russian Cyrillic alphabet, not the official typed autopsy reports for the law. I never thought much about the mafia having anything to do with this but it does make a little bit of sense I mean look what happened to Bobby Fuller I never thought much about Mafia being in the country music or any kind of music for that matter but I know there are involved in boxing and football and baseball also some other sports as well I guess the only one that really knows are the ones that are dead

I heard from a pretty reliable source many years ago that Hank was murdered. Hank wanted out of the brutal music business, which at that time had quite a few ties with the mafia, and I'm sure still does. It is a BIG money machine! And Hank was their biggest commodity at that time. And they were selling him like, in Hank's own words, pieces of bologna. The autopsy report also mentions lots of bruising and a major kick to Hank's groin. THEY knew Hank was just about done with it all and was gonna quit, so they took him out. That's what my source told me. Of course, it's always been covered up....kinda like corruption in the government. And of course, who can say for sure? Only Hank.

The doctor in question was a man named Toby Marshall, who was not actually a licensed physician but rather a hotel doctor known for providing injections to celebrities. Marshall claimed to have given Williams two shots of morphine and one of B12 to help alleviate his severe back pain during the long car ride. Idk if this is true but maybe someone can look into it.

Charles car was a very young man when all this happened his dad was friends with Hank that's how he got the job to drive him. Anybody knows that conspiracies do not hold water over long periods of time. Charles car is the only person who was there. He never changed his story until the day he died. Whoever allegedly got to him as they say would have been long dead by this time but yet he never changed his story

His driver Charles Carr, and the people at the Andrew Jackson hotel, confirm that Hank Williams was alive and walk down to the car on hisown, he died in route somewhere between there and The hilltop gas station just outside of oakhill.

Why do you keep saying someone killed Hank Williams? If Williams ordered steak and a doctor are you saying he was already dead? How did Williams get upstairs? I am surprised they left, but could that be to get to the next show or was Williams already dead? Why would anyone kill Hank Williams is a better question and think the official story is correct not this half baked click bait.
