I don't know if you're still walking the earth my friend but as a 21 years old that's mind blowing, I may not be able to see Hank sr in concert but love to Hank Jr or the III in concert I love the 3 generations of Hank Williams music and how different they are from each other
He's got a right to do his own kind of music (hellbilly country and metal) if that's what his heart is in. Sadly, it seems like he hasn't been working for quite a while now.. so I hope he gets over his problems and is able to come back to singing
I sing this one to my wife sometimes, she just rolls her eyes. She married a weirdo, but deep down Its my goofy antics that keep her coming back for more, lol.
This is amazing! It's like a time trip to 40's. You can still hear how great late Hank was. No drums, just original Hillbilly combo. it was before Elvis and rock'n'roll. Thank you so very much!

Always admired Hank3 for his attitude towards country music. You want see him bending to "play and sing this because it will sell" policy. He sings from the souls just like his grandaddy. Listening to this track with your eyes closed you would think it was the real Hank.
Finally real Country music! I grew up to this awesome music playing on the radio of my Dad's 1949 Ford Victoria aka "Shoe Box". It was eighter Country or Mexican music on the AM radio station whenever you got outside the city limits. Hank Williams was my favorite! Kaligia, Long lonesome Blue, Honky Tonkin, and the list goes on. Thank you for the blast from the past. 👍 ✝️🙏

This man inherited something very special. He was smart, and he is presenting it all exactly how grandpa was hoping to see for himself someday, in life.. Epic! Proves that music is a gene, not a learned skill.
Music is self-expression, anyone with an ounce of intelligence can learn to play an instrument and sing. That's what makes it great, everyone can join in and have fun. Of course your parents will have a massive influence on how you start off your musical life.
@@faramund9865 Well - no - if you don't have it - you can't learn it - not sing and not to play an instrument. I do know a lot of people who can't hit a note and don't even hear it if someone else does - and believe me some of them tried real hard but it didn't work.

To those that think that Hank just sings about getting messed up and being crazy, have you listened to One Horse Town, Number 5, Candidate For Suicide, Louisiana Stripes, Walking With Sorrow, and a whole lot more? Yeah he sings about getting messed up, don't you on the weekends have some beer, some shots, something?! Hank III songwriting really covers the emotions of everyday life and I don't think anyone will ever take that away from him. At least not in my eyes. Thanks for the music Shelton!

Wow...that made the hair on my neck stand on end...Hank would be emighty proud of his grandson...he has captured his essence and kept it alive. Not shooting down Jr, but I truly think Hank III has always had a place for Hank Sr,and he pays a wonderful tribute to the original.
hank 3 is such a great artist very unique he does resamble hank snr and u can here snr a little bit but its very little both differnt and exception artists its just sad that snr couldnt live longer to see how great and moving his music became
Sr's the legend, Jr's the sellout, and III is a damn fine musician all around. No man can live up to a legend, not even Hank Sr could live up to the legend that was himself.
H3 is every by as great as his grandpappy, if not more so. H3 can do the vintage thing, and the hellbilly show just as good. Hank three is the most talented country musician alive today.
This sends chills down my spine. In the interview before the performance he says that it's his grandfather's suit he's wearing for this tribute. You have to appreciate the love shown by the new generation.
Glen Have you heard his version of "I'll never get out of this world alive"? The difference is more significant in that one. He does sound like Hank Sr. a bit yeah but there is a significant difference which makes him sound worse in my opinion. But hey, I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
Hey yall i dont know if anyone listens to this type of music anymore but im 14 and its 2021 it kind sucks to be honest the reason i listen to him is because it seems like back then everything was fine and everyone stayed calm about it then u could hear a gun shot and not move now if u hear a gun shot everyone drops and checks for bullet holes its a stressful life u cant even walk to the store without getting robbed or shot for a couple of dollars
@garryreid69, Agreed. The fiddle solo is nearly idientical to the original. It's crazy how much 3 is a spitting image of Sr., both physical and vocal. Thanks for these uploads Gigny. They sound great.

I love III. I love his solo CUNTry, I love Assjack, Superjoint, etc. but this gave me chills. Was always my favorite song by his granddad and he nailed it 100%
@chasewendleham Im more than aware than Hank sr was called Hiram, but he was still the original Hank Williams. Im a fan of Hank III most of the time (think he needs to grow up a little), I have all his albums, I just think that you cant say he doesnt trade on his grandfathers name because he clearly does. He's not Shelton the 1st, hes Hank the 3rd!!!
Saw this episode when it Originally aired..AWESOME ! I've met Shelton,, and he was very cool to me & fans..... So I wonder what he was covering up on his guitar with the tape ?? Bet Marty censored him.
Hank III is a breath of fresh air in a world of crap music. I prefer his country stuff but I respect his punk sensibilities. In listening to recordings of Hank Sr., Hank III was definitely cut from the same cloth.
