When I was in 5th grade, I had this one friend that I wanted to sing this for, but I never could build up the courage to sing it... Fast forward to today (9th grade) and we're barely friends anymore. I only see her during one of my classes and she always rushes away from me whenever she can. I thought she hated me, until one day. One day I was crying at my seat when we were working on something. I won't share what I was crying about, but I will say this: When I was sitting there, she had walked over to the seat next to me and sat next to me while she worked. I started writing the words to this song on my arm half hoping she would glance over and ask me what was wrong, but she never said a word to me, she only worked in silence. I've listened to this song since Hannah Montana. All the friends I had back then till now were fake. But for the first time, I got a friend who I truly believe is true. I've known my best friend for almost 6 years. For almost two years we've been separated because I was at school and she was at university and then now we're at two different universitites on opposite ends of the country. We've been through a lot and being apart makes the times we get to be together even more special because its often several months (we see each other several times over the summer but the rest of the year is complicated) and we genuinely run straight into each other's arms whenever we see each other. Despite the several hours between us I know that if I ever need her all I have to do is call her and she'll be right at the other end with a million ways to make me laugh no matter how much I feel like crying and I'd do the same for her. I have another really close friend (I became extremely close with her when bff #1 went to uni and I was still in school) who unfortunately lives in a different country and although she goes to university in my country she's even further away than bff #1. But she texted me to say that she's coming to our school's town in two weeks and wants to see me. I practically screamed yes and was like I will genuinely clear my schedule to see you. We're going to visit our old school together and then she's coming to mine for a few days to catch up. So freaking excited to see both of them
