Absolutely not. It is beautiful, but also so very dark and toxic. Lucifer and Chloe have a beautiful live story too and are less toxic. Just to name one.
I feel like some people fail to see the nuance that comes with their relationship, its complex and violent and reflects the characters and well. They're reflections of one another and it was basically set in stone how their relationship would end. People fail to see that this goes deeper than just love or friendship, its never been a question how they felt towards one another, they always had it written on their sleeves, the same with all the crimes they've committed, the thing that makes their relationship so deep and complex is the fact that despite everything they still have this longing to be with one another, only will has accepted that they can't be together without hurting people, whether it be themselves or the ones around them. So rather than fighting it he ends up embracing it and only in doing that did he succeed in finally putting an end to the whole mess. Their love story is tragic yet strangely poetic and beautiful, and in the end it shows that while they were the other ones undoing they were also completed around one another. Its genius and it makes me sad to see people disregarding their relationship completely due to the mutual violence, yes while there is abuse happening here it adds to the complexity and why what will did was so important. The point is they both had it out for the other and yet despite many murder attempts still couldn't bring themselves to kill the other whilst they were still alive. The point of the show I think wasn’t to impose some nonsensical abusive relationship with plays on power dynamics like some people think, yes while those things do exist and show up now and again that’s not the focus,. Hannibal and Will changed each other, they each took something from the other that only when they are together can complete them, which is why will had to do what he did. Their feelings are love and passion for one another deep rooted in psychological problems and murderer like tendencies. It’s very deep
This is written so beautifully I cannot bring myself to not reply to this at all... The thing they shared with each other is deep. That is for sure. It speaks really to that desire to be understood and to have our dark side and darkest potential be not just accepted, but admired by another person. To know that they root for us, even our most obscene impulses. When you find someone who can do even that for you, when you have glimpsed how deep the mutuality can run, it's very hard to snap out of it and pretend nothing ever happened. Also the whole "I find you horrible and sickening, but the call of the corrupt is too tempting, so I too fall for it myself" thing is another aspect of their bond that I think speaks to many people's deepest desires abt companionship. Society likes to make it so that it looks as though it's good enough if we chase for the good and beautiful. Truth is it's not enough, and we're each equally drawn to our own type of ugliness. There's at least one sin or twisted thing in the world that we don't necessarily find abhorrent. Maybe you secretly enjoy and crave something that society doesn't approve of. You might not act on It, but you'll always be looking around for people who insinuates similar second thoughts as you on that particular thing. We want to see our unseemly inclinations validated, and understanding is the greatest validation another human can provide. When it's genuine, when you know it's from somewhere that "cannot be helped," you are swooned by the magnificence of the connection that they offer you. It begins egotistical perhaps, but then it's also involuntary.

I also see people focusing on superficial things all the time. You all said so correctly. I think absolutely the same. And I am glad that there are people who see not just the show, but want to understand the psychology of the heroes, in their motivation. This is my favorite show because their tragic relationship story seems to me like a person struggling with himself inside. And not only this. I am studying to be a psychologist and for many years I cannot stop dipping into the nuances of their relationship. This story has become one of the brightest impressions in my life.
From beginning and end, Hannibal's and Will's relationships has been written in blood so dark, by the moonlight, it could be like ink and betrayal so bitter, would put lemons and tears, to shame and, a friendship that's is so sweet, honey would come second place. This love story was so broken but they completed each other, will was the first person that hannibal had truly felt comfortable with that he left him know his true self even if it wasn't pretty and will accepted that because he was so connected to hannibal that he didn't want to live without him even If they had made attempts on each other's lives they both knew they couldn't kill the other because they didn't want to be alone. They were two halves of a whole and will does love hannibal because if you remember earlier bedelia had said that hannibal would get will to kill someone he loved and he ended up pushing both himself and hannibal off the cliff though we don't know if they truly died but since they haven't made a new season we can assume that they did. Hannibal also never truly denied how he felt for will it seems he was always hinting that he was fond of will whether people around them noticed or not
Hannibal and will are like Romeo and Juliet there love was soo powerful it overcome them both and it killed them they killed each other just like Romeo and Juliet
