Thanks for this video! I’m trying to relearn the piano and had a hard time with the descending sequence. So far, I think this is the only tutorial with writings on the keys, which made the explanation even clearer. Great content! Hoping for more video lessons from here

Many thanks, being dyslexic this really helps. My teachers think I am dense as the easy instruction is hard and hard easy . With this I can go slowly dj

hanon was evil lol. couldn't he do 1-2 RH and 5-4 LH or 1-3 RH and 5-3 LH? no he had to mix them up and short circuit my brain. at first I thought a misprint in my handbook lol
@silhy37
@silhy37 4 года назад
Same here. Is there a specific reason why the excercises do not having the RH and LH mirroring each other? Apart from developing independence?
@tomasjosefpiano8902
@tomasjosefpiano8902 4 года назад
@@silhy37 it's solely for developing independence. And trust me, you'll be thankful for it.

This video is great and it's a great exercise. What most don't realize is the hidden beauty of this is, it also teaches you all your 6th notes from the root note on the bottom and your CMaj triads in first inversion at the same time.

This was amazing! Where should the fingers rest at the end? On the sheet music online, it is confusing because it tells you to jump a few keys.

I'm currently self-learning the piano and someone recommended the Hanon. But still can't find a hardcopy bc we're still under home quarantine. This helps me a lot

If you need a digital copy of the entire Hanon series, visit imslp.org or search in Google for Hanon imslp. This will give you a softcopy at least as well. Good luck with the quarantine and stay safe.

May I ask how does the thing with the metronome works? It was said to set it at 60 then gradually increase to 108... i'm kind of new to it so do I go 60, 61, 62.... 108 or should I increase it by 10?
@WrmusicstudioSA
@WrmusicstudioSA 3 года назад
hellohooman increase by 10 bpm or even 15 to 20 if you feel that 10 is too little.

Very confusing. In right hand you selected finger 1 then after skipping one note next finger 2 nearer to first one. But in left hand starting with finger 5 after skipping one note and also one nearer finger 4 and used finger 3rd one & when returning ending with finger 4 in place of 3 on the same note.
@Raven0209
@Raven0209 3 года назад
Does it matter where u start, I mean r8 hand c4 and left c3? Or can I start anywhere in the piano as long as I keep them onctave apart?
@WrmusicstudioSA
@WrmusicstudioSA 3 года назад
Yes, but since all these exercises are 2 octaves in length, I recommend starting with LH on C1 and RH on C2 for good balance and posture.
