Hello Bob, I'm Chris from Germany, Bavaria, south of Munich. I've never made any comment on a RU-vid video in my life. But this time it was just worth it - it's wonderful, which happiness you bring to your grandfather! Amazing! Many regards
Sie sind ein guter Mensch. Und ich mag diesen Opa mehr als ein Motorrad. Ich Wünsche Ihrer Familie Gesundheit und ein langes glückliches Leben. Ich bin aus Russland.
Wishing you all the best and what a gift for Hans, the emotions he must have felt! I purchased a 1938 BMW R66 which is a surprise retirement gift for my father, will be very soon now!
Thanks for posting this. I too have an r25 that I am about to restore. My father bought it when we lived out in N Rhodesia in the 1960's. As a boy I can remember rides out into the Bush, me as pillion and my younger brother sat on the petrol tank. The bike came with us to England in 67. I made a start at restoring it over 20 years ago. Now that I am retired I can devote the time to it. A few bits are missing or need replacing, but now we have the internet to help source parts. Great video, I hope you enjoy the bike, it has given me inspiration.
Hi Bob, I just wanted to hear a R25 and searched RU-vid about it and your Video came first. Is the shown map a tour Hans did in his early years? If yes, in Southgermany he drove via Karlsruhe and Rastatt, thats where im living ☺️ 👍🏻
I don’t you, but I recall my dad’s stories about how he rode his motorcycle with my mother through the Alps and Dolomites. Now I’m riding with my wife and yes I call her ‘Mami’. Motorcycle touring is a great gift for us , brings us together, makes us happy. I love my Harley and hope to pass her on to my son once I cannot swing a leg over her anymore. I hope you and your family managed to stay healthy and happy. God’s Speed to your dad and his BMW!
I inherited two BMW from my father, 1 R75/5 and 1 R69S - the latter was stolen 2 days before I could find a truck to take it out of the street. Both were in pathetic states because my dad left when I was 4 and and then these bikes were moved several times because no one wanted to take care of them. As soon as I got my bike driving licence at 19 I chose that they will be my daily bikes but... the R69S was gone. Regarding the R75/5 I ride it as much as I can and she even traveled Europe from Brest, France to Istanbul, Turkyie. I love these bikes so much but buying back a R69S would damage the story behind it. Beautiful video and best regards Hans.
I'm realy touched by this video. Great job! I own the same model since 1975 and still ride it for more than 40 years with a lot of memorys. Traveling thru Europe in the seventies... Gerold from Munich
Great BMW R 25 and a beatuiful Story. What is the Name of de 2. Song?
BMV's have a soul. Particularly those made through 1967.The Men that made them are all 'passed' now. I've owned 3. So much Joy. Had a perfect Steib "Luxus" on my R-60. MEMORIES. . . .
Great video, Grandpa was really happy. We have two pieces of these BMW R25s. 1x BMW R25 / 0 from the year 1950 and 1x BMW R25 / 2 from the year 1952. I am currently restoring the R25 / 0 together with my son. It belongs to him. My R25 / 2 has been restored for some time and is a model for the construction. Greetings from near Bremerhaven Germany
Good job restoring it. And congratulations even more for bringing joy to your grand-father, and to us vicariously. It reminded me how much this bike is fun and that I need to get back mine on the road asap. Perhaps, I will have to post a video in hope to inspire someone else in turn...
Wirklich sehr berührender Film! Wer Lust und Laune hat, uns bei der Restauration einer BMW R 25/3 zu folgen, kann gerne dabei zusehen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZRvA-PymP-U.html
So the old man is your grandfather, and the woman in the pictures was your grandmother ? They lived in Germany in 1952 ? That is one happy man I see on the buddy seat.
Danke
